Kristen, Kya Blu & Sami ham it up on the top bunk.Arent' they all beautiful!
Sami with Kya Blu.
Abby flashes a pretty smile showing
off her ponytail.
Abby is wearing one of her ponytails that YOU got her. A large group of readers got together and raise the money for ponytails and wigs when Abby got sick.
We already received one wig but it just didn't look natural on her. We figured out after that first one how to get the hair color, thickness and length correct. We have another full wig on order and it should be here soon.
Abby loves her ponytails and has several she wears under hats and scarves. She's very comfortable with her "bald like Daddy" head, but loves to have hair once in a while too.
Big brother Dane, 21, targets some bad guys
with his little webslinging partner, SpideyLandis.
SpideyLandis assumes his trademark pose
while fully robed in his webgear. When he takes it
off, he immediately reminds you his name is
Peter Parker, not Landis.
MeeMaw loves on Abby who was not feeling good
at all for most of her grandparents visit which
you can see in the somewhat strained smile.
You would not BELIEVE how much I had to beg
to get my bride to let me post these pics. This was
her version of trying to ignore me while I was
snapping off shots. She thinks she takes terrible
pictures and most of the time I have no
luck getting her to sign off on the release form.
Ain't she perty?
Kya Blu got to enjoy her very FIRST
piece of bubble gum. Getting her to
NOT swallow it proved fruitless.
PawPaw and Peter Parker ham it up for the camera.
Kyla Blu and her Mom, Candy, show off
Abby's "Jasmine" costume.
A normal day for us, Abby had to stop frequently
and get medicine into her feeding tube port.
She just takes it in stride and accepts it as part of life.
Abby didn't feel well (that's an understatement)
for much of the day. Here she gets some love and
comfort from Kristen's Mom, Phyllis.
Abby, showing off one of her ponytails.
Michelle and I were so blessed to have friends from
all over the Internet, including Phyllis and Candy,
get together and raise money for her hair pieces.
Kristen is a GREAT dancer... she was spinning, lip-syncing
and having a great time leading the dance party.
Abby dancing with Kristen. Sami, Landis, Kyla and
even Candy were all in the room showing off their best moves.
Matt 19:14 - Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
You know why the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like the children? Because children can have cancer, be in agony, throw up 30 times a day, barely able to walk, need morphine just to keep from crying... and still give hugs, say 'I love you', dance with her friends, smile, be thankful and never once complain.
Then we grow up... and moan about unfairness, express discontent about what we don't have, murmur and grump over every discomfort, say 'I love you' only when we feel like it is deserved, forget to be thankful and of course, we are WAY too embarrassed to dance, showing our love for just being alive.
People often ask why we are so public about Abby's journey... do you still need to know? How many lives can a four year old influence as a living example of Jesus words:
"Let the little children come to me... for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Leave a comment with your gripe, complaint or murmur. We'll send you a picture of Abby.

I am so AMAZED that Abby has all of the strength that she does. For someone so sick, she remains so strong! You guys are wonderful parents to Miss Abby and I am amazed at how many people she has touched lately! Hang in there and PRAYERS are coming from Texas!

In spite of everything, Abby is just a beautiful little girl. You can just see Jesus living in her face. Though your road has been arduous and so emotionally trying, it has been the ultimate testimony to the rest of the world. Through your family and Abby, people have come to hear about God and the strength he gives on the days when ya'll just can't even stand to get out of bed (or go to bed!!).
Abby has touched the hearts of many and is a constant reminder of God's word to all of us.
Wow! I am feeling so incredibly convicted right now. My family has been going through a struggle with my MIL. We don't yet know if we get to keep her for a while longer or whether she is going to go dance with Jesus. While I was sitting her pondering a future minus one that I love, I decided to check your blog. Thank you for being willing to share some hard, hard truths. Thank you for going 'public' with Abby's story. She is touching lives (how could she not with that beautiful smile?!). Thank you for reminding me to go out with my head held high and dance like the daughter of the King that I am.
How could I ever gripe about the small minor dramas I have in my live day to day when you guys are dealing with so much, and doing it with a smile on your faces...is beyond me! Looks like a very fun dance party..and Abby seems like such a little trooper! The kids are all so gorgeous! Hang in there, still praying for Abby and your entire family. I am very grateful that you are sharing your journey with all of this.
I want you to know that I have been following your blog about Abby. I have been praying for this sweet little girl and for the rest of the family. I know this is a very hard time for your family. I love the pictures that your posting. I love that your sharing your story to help others wether you know it or not. Keep them coming. I so love the verse about how important the children are to God. I agree, if you get any complaints or gripes just send them a picture. Because the pictures tell a story! A story of a little girl trying to survive, a family who loves her so much and want to capture every moment of her life. If Abby can go through what she does every day, then we can deal with the little things we face everyday. I'm so happy to know that God entrusted you with Abby and that she has a family to love her through this scary time. Please keep the posts coming....
Kim
What a sweet day with such a sweet gal!
Again, such beautiful children surround you and Abby is gorgeous as usual.
Sending love and prayers to you, across the NET.
I'm so glad Candy and Kya made it back to your house because I know Candy LOVES your little girl!! She talked about her a lot when we seen them in Disney for New Year!!
I pray Abby has more good days to come!!
You said it all so perfectly! When I was in nursing school it was my rotation through the pediatric cancer unit of a New York hospital that lead me to work as a pediatric nurse. It amazed me the strength those children displayed and how much they were able to teach me in the short time I was with them. Adults take so much for granted and are far less giving -- in a medical sense -- my gripe.
Praise God for dancing, even while sick.
Not sure if these are tears of compassion after reading your breathtaking post, or tears of joy that she can overcome so so so much.... but you got me.
Dear God, thank you for the small moments she does get to enjoy to keep her going, you're answering our prayers. Stay strong, have faith.
oh, and by the way, as if you haven't heard this a million times... but she is absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you for posting this. I am a new follower of your blog and have been praying for Abby.
It is so easy to loose the real reason we are here on earth, not for ourselves but to serve our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
I am praying for strength and healing for your beautiful daughter and for strength and wisdom for you and the rest of your family.
Many prayers coming from OKC!
Sarah
Thank you Jesus for the smile on that little face, and the twinkle i see in her eyes. Please keep touching her and holding her close to you as she struggles through this journey.
Thank you Brent for the pictures, she is so beautiful, they take your breath away. Praying for a peaceful, restful night for all.
Looks like Abby had some fun with her friends...I love her sweet smile.

Abby is amazing. You are amazing. Your wife is gorgeous. Your friends are priceless.
God is awesome.
Giving Him glory today for another day with Abby...dancing.

Sandy
Thanks for sharing the pics of Abby dancing today. That really brightens my day to see her happy and with all of the people that love her even when she is so sick. What an inspiration. Thank you! Please give her an extra squeeze and know that we are all praying for her and your family.
Fondly,
Diana
I know that ever minute you have with Abby right now is PRICELESS...so I THANK YOU so much for sharing her with us this afternoon. As you can see I am just a BIG KID and I loved singing and dancing with the girls...and doing the Web Blasting Spidey Dance with Landis. I also really enjoyed the time I got to share drawing with Abby on the couch. Oh Treat to meet Brent...Maria's Hubby...HA! Oh and Brent Granna C's Bday is tomorrow and she will be 59...I called her on the way home and she is SO excited about the gift you sent for her. We had a great time and I love the bond that Sami and Kya Blu are forming as well. Sami Kya told her Daddy all about the fashion show she was in today with HER Sami! It was also cool to get to meet my neighbors...aka Abby's Grandparents today! Wow what an Awesome Day The Lord Made For Us Today!
SO I am now going on record as saying LANDIS...REALLY IS AS FUNNY AS HIS PICTURES...and he REALLY thinks he is SPIDERMAN!
We Love you guys and hope to see you all again REALLY soon!
Your pictures are always so clear and great shots!!
No complaints from me today!!
XXOO for Abi!
Kathy :)
The pictures are great! Michelle is very pretty and I love Abby's ponytail. I am thankful that you have chosen to share Abby's journey with us - it has certainly given me great insight to strengthening my faith and love for God.
That big pic of Abby with her beautiful smile is priceless. I'm ashamed that I have EVER complained about anything. I also love the pictures of Michele... you are beautiful.
Forgot to say...LOVE THE PICTURES OF MICHELLE....and The BIG picture of Abby with her pony tail is my FAV pic of Abby yet....Oh I love seeing her SMILE!
Oh yes and can anyone say PASTY WHITE....that is what my new blond hair color and standing next to my beautiful daughter dose to my complexion....come on BRENT I know you can make me look TAN too! HA
I'm so happy that Abby was able to dance and play a little today with Kya and Kristen. I just loved seeing her smile. And, little Landis is too cute.
I am glad you choose to share Abby's story. She has the potential to influence so many. I was a self-proclaimed atheist from the time I was about 12 or 13...I'm now 18, and hearing of Abby's story has helped me find God. I now pray every single day, usually more than once, for Abby and all of the other kids out there like her. Every time I catch myself complaining about tiny insignificat things in my life, I think of Abby. She is so strong and she is such an inspiration.
Have faith, Amy
abby is so lovely.
prettiest little girl i've seen today!
:)
:) this inspired me so much! ...Abby´s such a sweetie,we should all learn "how to enjoy life" from her...I keep praying and I hope today will be better for all of you there :)
"Then we grow up... and moan about unfairness, express discontent about what we don't have, murmur and grump over every discomfort, say 'I love you' only when we feel like it is deserved, forget to be thankful and of course, we are WAY too embarrassed to dance, showing our love for just being alive."
I think that says it all right there! Adults sure do take the fun out of life. We often get so focused on the "rules" we forget to just live a little.
Michelle - you are absolutely GORGEOUS! Best photos of you that I have seen - because they show the real you in many ways. I loved that you allowed Brent to share them with us.
I love all the photos Brent. What program do you use to get the photos to look 3D?
It has blessed our family so much being a small part of Abby's life - her strength is so admirable and inspirational. Sometimes I share her story with them to remind them how lucky they are and to stop complaining about the small stuff. Life is too precious to care about toys or who got to something first or more than you.
Being a parent of 8 has become an awesome responsibility and I thank God daily that He is working through me to train them in the way they should go - because I know I am a complete failure without Him!
Hugs and love,
Jill
Oh, I have no gripes, or problems. I am very blessed and thankful to Him. Just want you to know that someone in Kentucky is praying for your family and your sweet, precious gift from Him.
It was great to see that in the midst of all her pain and sickness Abby is still just a little girl and can still have some fun. Praying that she has more days like this but with less of the sickness part
joan
Looks like Abby had fun. As for the nausea, I am sure the docs and/or you have tried various meds to help with the nausea. Have you tried sea-bands? They work for nausea and motion sickness. Pregnant women sometimes wear them. It's worth a try if you have not tried them.
Holly Gibbs
oh my, that girl moves my heart! (and your words hit the spot this morning.) Lifting her up in prayer today...
blessings,
karen
(oh, Michelle, you take beautiful pictures!)
Gripe? How could I? I have been following your blog for a few days now..and continued to be amazed at all Abby is going through and how she still smiles...thanks for sharing this journey that encourages us all..and thanks for giving us the opportunity to love and pray for your sweet baby!!!
What a wonderful post! I REFUSE to complain about ONE little thing! The photos are wonderful and depicted what a very SPECIAL day it was despite Abby not feeling well at all.
Blessings!
Jill
I have been praying for Abby every day. I know she is going to be healed, but I sure hate that she is so sick right now.
I love that picture of Abby where she is smiling and you can see her teeth. She has beautiful teeth! I know a lot of times when you are so sick, and especially on chemo or something, it affects your teeth, but hers are beautiful!
Please know she is on several prayer lists here in Texas!
Oh! And I think that is a really perty picture of Abby's mom!
Kathy in West Texas
Abby is amazing! So little yet, so big and brave. I love that picture with the smile and the ponytail!
The dancing is so cute. Glad she got to enjoy a little bit.
Michelle you look beautiful. We are always our toughest critic. Thanks for letting Brent share.
Thinking of all of you and you are in our prayers daily.
Abby is so beautiful. absolutely beautiful and so is her journey.
So glad to see Abby up & dancing. Praying for some immetidate refief from the throwing up & nausea. Am continously praying for you all!
With much love!
Rissa & James
As a daughter of the King of Kings, I have no complaints...only praise! It's so wonderful to see Abby's face so full, as much as she is going through, she really looks healthy. A testimony of our heavenly Father. Ms. Michelle, you were absolutely a high light in today's post, what a beautiful face. Brent is right when he say's "aint she pretty". Blessings to all of you, believing for a great week for Abby. Susie
After seeing Abby have fun despite her anguish how can anyone have a gripe??
My only gripe is that sweet innocent children have to deal with such pain, and their parents, family's, and friends, have to deal with such fear.
I LOVE your blog and I love that you are sharing real life with others, to touch our lives and share Christ's love and the joy having Him in your life brings.
Praying for your precious family,
Tina
Can't say I complain much. Never did, and especially after cancer, I take every moment as a gift.
Abby looks great, her ponytail is awesome!
My only gripe is that this beautiful, amazing little girl has to go through all of this. The way that she still is able to have fun between everything is an inspiration to us all. I adopted my son last year from Guatemala and have always tried to spend as much time as I can with him, but after reading your blog, I find even more time (let the dishes, cleaning, etc. wait until he goes to bed). My son is only 23 months old, but I have been teaching him to pray and when we do we pray for Abby. It's cute to her him say her name. Thank you so much for sharing Abby with all of us. She, along with her entire family will continue to be in my prayers!
Beth
Can I just say, your post made me cry, and then when I read the comment about the girl who was an athiest and your Abby helped her find God, I cried more! I know that helps you deal with everything, seeing the good that God brings out of throwing up 30 times a day!
Michelle--You are beautiful! Let your hubby post more pics!
Praying for you guys....I use your story as an example alot!
No griping. Thanks for the priority check.
Michelle Riggs, you are one beautiful Mama. I mean that with all my heart.
I see Jesus in your eyes.
love,
Holly
AAW, her pnytail is adoorable!
No gripes here either, when I think Ihave it bad, I think of your sweet girl & what shes eduring. No child should have to be this sick. I am glad that Abby enjoyed the day with her friends & I pray everyday for happier & healthier days ahead for your sweet baby girl.
alex
I read this posting out loud to my family. We continue to pray for your sweet little girl.
The photo's are adorable.
I'm so happy to see an Abby-smile again. Hang in there, Princess Abby! Praying for you, always.

Your daughter, Abby, is absolutely precious. She is so very, very brave and I just love seeing her dance!!!
Such a wonderful post. My family is praying for Abby. I will remember this post and hope to aspire to dance more daily on behalf of your sweet girl. She continues to inspire and teach us all.
You have welcomed the littlest child in Jesus name, you have welcomed Him!!! We are all blessed to share your daughter through your words and pictures.
Praying God's most beloved Blessings upon Abby and her sweet family.

What an inspiration you ALL are! Abby's spirit is not only a reflection of Jesus but a reflection of her family. You live what you learn. Thank you for being salt and light in a sometimes very dark world!
Abby is such a beautiful little girl and you have such a beautiful family!! I am so thankful that you guys are public with this journey...everyone of you are my heros, SpideyLandis and Peter Parker included!!
Praying for all of you!
Beautiful pictures, your wife is very beautiful. It is so great that Abby is going through so much, but she still shows such happiness. Praying for your.
Thank you so much for posting that last part. It is so so true. Looking at pictures of Abby gives me so much strength, seeing her smile and laugh in spite of the pain. It makes me feel like such a wuss for the tiny things I complain about.
