This post has been created to allow people who don't know about Abby to catch up.
Abby is four years old. We adopted her from Guatemala when she was six months old.
In July 2008, three years old, she was diagnosed with a high risk, aggressive form of Leukemia. Over the months, her prognosis has worsened as other complications and conditions became know.
We thank you for taking time to learn more about her, and even more, for your prayers.

I would like to link folks to your blog again by doing a post on Abby. Would it be ok for me to use a photo? If so, do you have a preference as to which photo?
Thank you, and, as always,

Hi, I was just passing through some adoption blogs and I found your blog and it really touched me. A year and a half ago, when I was seventeen, I was diagnosed with stage four Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. My oncologist said that leukemia and lymphoma are the most common types of childhood cancer. A lot of people thought I was brave when I was getting treated and when my hair fell out and when I got sick because of my immune system basically being destroyed by the chemo. I didn't tell anyone at the time because I didn't want to cry but I was terrified. I have always had a problem expressing my emotions and even though I didn't show people how much it meant to me, their thoughts and prayers really helped. I have so many friends and family members, of so many faiths, that I knew all of their prayers would help. Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, Catholic, Jewish, and even some Sikhs prayer for my recovery. I even met a monk from South America who heals through Jesus and he prayed over me.
From firsthand experience, I know how hopeless some of these things can make us feel, especially as parents, I think my parents actually had a harder time than me with my diagnosis and treatment. But, the prayers worked, and after a year of aggressive chemo and radiation, I went into remission. Sometimes things seem bad, but I think I'm living proof that miracles exist. I don't usually tell people all of that story because I don't like to cry, but your blog touched me so much that I just wanted to share because I think these miracles can happen even when they're least expected. I hope so much that your daughter experiences a miracle and I will be sending all of my thoughts and prayers to your family.
I received your blog information from a friend that also adopted from Guatemala. Abby and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. Know that God is watching over you and Abby. I have previously trained with Team in Training which supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to run 2 marathons and raise money for this organization. Reading stories like Abby's is the reason I continue to run and raise money. Hopefully you have been in touch with this society and they have been able to help you out!!

I lost my own daughter yesterday, but am remembering sweet Abby in prayer. God's strength is sufficient for whatever load He asks you to carry in His name. I pray that Abby will be healed, and that she will not suffer.
Abby has inspired me to the unprecedented challenge of posting a comment on blog!
She's also inspiring faith and community to followers and believers far and wide. Abby's story is close to my heart as our family includes a young Guatemalan adopted daughter and a niece who has also endured the painful rigors of a child's chemo 'therapy'. We are confident that our Jessica's angelic presence is surrounding your baby girl as she faces this incomprehensible challenge.
Standing behind you in faith, we are... "Praying for Abby".

Today I was complaining about having strep throat. Then I hopped on the computer & saw the update on Abby. She is so small and has gone through so much. I have a feeling she smiles through the pain. This little beautiful girl has taught me quite a lesson. She is truly at the top of my prayer list --- along with the rest of your family. Sending warm hugs along with prayers. Don't give up!
