Mommy, the Doctor said "Hell"...

(Abby slept peacefully after a very rough procedure on Friday that left her in much pain.)

“Hell”… that is the word Abby’s doctor used to describe the 60 days of treatment that starts on Wednesday.

As Christians, we cringe a little to compare anything in this life to the real Biblical Hell, but we understand what the Doctor is trying to communicate. This is a life-threatening, miserable time of suffering for Abby. Her smallest chance of survival will come during this phase of chemotherapy, and if she does get through it, she may have to do it twice.

Over the next few days leading up to her first treatment, we’ll be asking you to consider various ways to prayer, and ways to include more people in Abby’s prayer support. Here are a couple for today:

We are truly a grateful to all our friends and family who have stood by us during this difficulty. No matter what happens, we trust God, and His will be done.

If you have any ideas how we can involve more people in praying for Abby, please leave a comment and let us know.

What about a Prayer Vigil starting Tues night? There was one for a little baby a few months ago, and over 600 people responded with time they would be praying. Drs thought he was not even going to survive being born b/c of heart problems, and HE WAS HEALED IN THE WOMB! PRAISE GOD!

I will pray for Abby around 8 on Tues night, and around 5 am on Wed. morning, plus any other time God brings her to my mind. (Central Time)

A few weeks ago I called KLOVE and asked them to pray - they have pastors that pray several times a day for listener requests. I'll post it on their website and I'm sure others have done the same.

While I checked your blog earlier today, I was listening to the radio and Mark Schultz's "He's My Son" came on. As tears welled in my eyes, I thought about how much you love your Abby...how difficult this journey has been...how difficult it is to be in the next weeks...but most of all, I thought about how much our Father loves each and every one of us. Our family will be praying and I will reach out in any way that I can to ask others to do so. May He comfort and bless you all. I also think the idea suggested about a prayer vigil is a great one, and would love to participate.

Peace and love,
Becky

Abby has been in my constant prayers. She is on our prayer list at church and today my Sunday School class had a special circle of prayer for her. I teach the Jr. High class and the teenagers in my class are very touched about sweet Abby. We will continue to lift her up in prayer daily. I was singing a song today called "Miracle in the Making." I thought of Abby the whole time. No matter what doctors are statistics say God can work a miracle. That is what I am praying for. Love and prayers from SC.

"Every tear I've cried, you hold in your hands" I clung to that in the endless days we waited for our referral. As tears run down my face for your little Abby that song started playing just now! "God is in control, we believe that His children will not be forsaken..."

She (as well as you and her doctors) were added to our church prayer list this morning and to my blog last night. I'm praying for her little body to have the strength it needs to fight through this! We sang about God moving mountains this morning and I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes as Abby came to mind.
