[Pic: Abby had a hard day, throwing up often and crying. And this was her "easy" time... poor kid.]
Well, tomorrow is here.
We are SO GRATEFUL to everyone for their tireless efforts this week getting people to come over and join in the prayer efforts for Abby. If you didn't see her latest video, view it here:
http://www.brentriggs.com/?ItemID=349&CategoryID=187
Special thanks to our MckFriend over at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ who made a special mention to her audience about Abby. We are indebted to all the kind comments and encouragement that have come from her MckReaders... please check out her blog, you'll love it, I promise. I had already planned to do story on her in the February issue of Serious.Life Magazine.
We truly know what it means to have JOY no matter what the circumstance because God, through gathering thousands of praying, encouraging Believers around us, has given us joy. Only God is capable of having a little three year old girl influence so many lives.
One new friend wrote that they were spiritually bottomed out before coming across Abby's story. She said that Abby's smile and our story about God's faithfulness reignited her Christianity and she is alive again in her faith. Countless others have told us how Abby is the focus of their children's prayers... what a wonderful, precious treasure to know that children all over are praying on behalf of our child.
Still others often comment how amazed they are at OUR faith.... no, it's not our faith.... our faith is weak and prone to falter. It's God's FAITHFULNESS that allows us to have any measure of faith in our lives. We only have faith and hope and joy because of God, and Him alone. If you are amazed, be amazed that God is patient and merciful with our small faith.
By the time you read this, Abby will probably be getting pumped full of a scary amount of chemotherapy. We pray for her survival, and her long life that we want to witness. We pray even more though that God's will is known, accepted and praised no matter what the outcome. If you didn't see her latest video, view it here:
http://www.brentriggs.com/?ItemID=349&CategoryID=187
We do not live in a vacuum, and do not want to be self-consumed... how can we pray FOR YOU today? Leave a comment and let us know...

Abby was often contemplative and "blank" today,

I'm praying hard for little Abby and will continue through this difficult time.
Thank you so much for thinking of others even in your time of trial.
I would be VERY grateful if you would pray for my daughter Katie.
Katie contracted a deadly form of Bacterial Meningitis at 18 days old in January 2008. We almost lost her several times, but she fought and God answered my prayers.
As a result of bleeding, she has permanent injury to her brain. We've been so blessed to see her develop fairly well so far. We were told to expect severe disabilities and more likely, a persistent vegetative state.
It is truly a miracle...one the doctors can not explain.
Prayers for her continued health, healing and development would be wonderful!
I recently started recording her story on a new blog at leeleenews.blogspot.com, if you have time to read about it...eventually. :)
Kristine, Chris & Katie
You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.
praying for your family and abby. what a precious little girl. found you through mckmama...she's great. praying that abby is comforted through all of this.
In Him,
Erin
p.s. prayer request from my side...please pray for strength in my walk with Christ. I've let my relationship slip away and want so much to be strong in my relationship with Christ again.
Brent and Michelle,
All that you wrote is what I have been telling people - that one child like Stellan, Audrey and now precious Abby - bring people renewed hope or reason to come close to the LORD in their own life. To hear children praying for another child must bring joy overflowing to our God. Let the little children come!
I have been touched by your faith as well and like you said - we are so faithless and HE is so FAITHFUL!
Over the past six months I have experienced glimpses of what you deal with day in and day out - which always brings me to my knees for your family. I thank God for all that He has done for your family through this season.
As I stop to pray for Abby today and the coming days - I want to say thank you for sharing her and this with me. It has been such an encouragment in ways that can only come from seasons such as these.
Love and blessings,
Jill
Praying for Abby.
Praying for Miss Abby this morning and the rest of the family too. I hope this day is more wonderful than you could even imagine.
blessings,
karen
First let me say that I am praying. I am also struck at the reaching out to bless others with prayer as you are taking this long arduous journey. Things in my life have been uncertain of late, yet as I read Abby's story and that of your family I know that even in the dark there is The Light.
We are continuing our prayers for you, Abby. You are a precious gift and have touched many hearts and lives. Stay strong sweet girl and know you are being prayed for. God bless you and your family.
Lots of Hugs & Prayers,
Gina, Mommy to Lucas
K-LOVE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY:
Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him...Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.
~ Hebrews 10:22-25, NLT
God bless you all, and we are praying for her and all of you.
So here it is and here we go. Bring it on. What an army. Fighting for Christ....We claim victory today and forever more.
My days begin early and I have already been praying for Abby and your family today. May God give you all the strength and the peace you need as you begin this difficult part of Abby's journey.
As for prayers for me, I have my 3rd Guatemalan adoption underway now (grandfathered in to the "old" way of processing). Daughter #3 is a special needs child and we have hit one delay after another. My prayer is that God will move in the lives of those "in charge" and that they will have their hearts softened, allowing the adoption to be completed soon, allowing my daughter to come home. My problems, however, seem quite small in comparison to what you are facing in your lives and it's awkward for me to give you a prayer request from myself. I have done it, however, because you asked for us to do so.
Thinking of you often,
Karen
i'll be praying for her day & night....i really hope she survives through this horrible chemo
Brent and Michelle, I just wanted you to know that I am still praying for Abby's recovery. She is on my mind all day long. I appreciate you sharing the pictures of yesterday; sorry to hear that she was sick for much of it. When I put my children to bed last night, I made them aware of Abby's condition, and she was the main focus of our prayer last night. Regardless of what you said, I AM amazed at your steadfast faithfulness. You are helping me to be a stronger person by simply witnessing your faithfulness during such a trying period. Best of luck today, and we will continue to keep Abby and all of you in our prayers. Wendy in Fredericksburg, VA
Abby is so beautiful! I will be praying. So much to think about, pray about and reflect on - but no words come to me. I just want you to know that I care and will continue to pray for Abby and for your family!
In His Love and Blessings,
annb
Praying that God would work a miracle, that not only would this treatment be successful in ridding her body of disease, but that this course of treatment would be far, far easier than expected. Please, Jesus, she's been through so much...please shield her from more suffering. On the cross you took on all our sin and sufferings...can you please buffer this for her too?
Your perfect and pleasing will be done, Lord.
i am honored to be the first to say that i am praying for abby, for your family, for the doctors, and for our Father's glory for the winsome way in which you share your lives. . . i was especially touched by the person who had "bottomed out" and was blessed by abby's story. may God get the glory, but may abby be sustained by Him, comforted, cradled and loved beyond measure. y'all are a treasure, and we'll be praying!

What a beautiful family you have! Not that I have any idea what you are going through...I do however know what it feels like to watch your daughter sick, fighting for her life in hospitals. Our daughter (through the gift of adoption as well) has many congenital anomalies, including a significant heart defect.
I am praying that you and Abby feel the arms of Jesus wrapped tightly around you...as you begin this leg of your journey.
Thinking & praying for you all & what lies ahead.
I have passed this site on to many family & friends & even a forum that I visit. So I know there are many more praying for you all!!!
Just know our family in Michigan is praying for you!!!
Hang in there sweet Abby, we will be praying for you until you kick this sweet girl.
While I walk along side our Father in my own journey we will be talking about you today. I am on the prayer team at my own church so every week I get a new person to pray for who has cancer, who has gone to be with Him and another little girl I know who has leukemia. Rather than feel discouraged I find my resolve strengthening and am eager to go before the Lord to pour out of my heart the very passion and love he put in me for these very special people.
My thoughts and prayers are with Abbey today. May God give her and your family strength and may He bless her with healing
Many thoughts, love and prayers from Illinois
As always, Abbie is in my thoughts and prayers!
I started my day off with prayer for Abby! I have a premature granddaughter born 15 weeks early (1 lb. 12 ozs.) so when you have a quiet moment, I solicit your prayers for the continued growth of her lungs and for God's strength for my daughter and son in law as they love her and take care of her. May God's presence be felt today and comfort be found in knowing others care about Abby.
Impossible odds are where God can have great victories.
Praying for your sweet Abby...for her to have peace and physical comfort; your family...to have peace as well and strength to endure the next few months; for the doctors and nurses surrounding Abby...for them to have wisdom and compassion.
Telling everyone I know. We love you so much Abby! But so does the Father!
If this is a testimony to win others to Him, then it is good. He makes all things good, just not easy...
I'm praying for you today...all day. I'm praying for strength and healing for Abby, for strength and peace for her family, for her parents to know just what to do to help her as much as they can, and for the peace of God to surround you and provide a cushion of comfort through this day.
In His love...Shannon--Joplin, MO

I'm Jenny...Amy's sister. I want you to know how much Abby and you all have touched our lives. It's a snowy day in Illinois and my children's school was cancelled. My husband and I were lying around in bed reading things on the computer. We saw Abby's video on Amy's blog. Pretty soon here comes the rest of the kids. We all read your blog together, prayed together and cried together. We know God's plans are much bigger than ours. We just pray that God keeps blessing you with all the love and faith you have at this moment. If we can do anything else...please...let us know. We will continue praying with all our hearts.
Prayers are being said for Abby. I do believe in miracles and have faith she will be okay. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
A thousand prayers for Abby - may He give her the strength to fight this and may He provide your family the strength to find joy in even the most fleeting of moments. May your generosity of spirit be felt by all those who are touched by Abby's story, that they may be inspired by her to find their way to peace in Him...
Your beautiful daughter is amazing, and she will be in my prayers. Thank you for sharing her so that her story can touch so many.

We're praying like crazy here. It is very gracious of you to offer prayer for others in your own time of need. The needs of my family and I are met at this time, so I will simply ask for a prayer for all children who are suffering or in pain.
God Bless all of you, and hope that Abby is managing with her treatment. The look on her face in that last picture shows wisdom that no 4-year old child should have to posess.

As I was up at 3 with Abe last night, the Lord quickly brought my mind to Abby and your family. I am so encouraged by your faith- your transparency that it isn't yours but a gift of His. That though you are weak, He makes you strong.
Know that many are lifting you all up in prayer, praying for her body and its ability to fight, for His perfect peace to surround you now, for His love to be so thick and tangible that you feel it with you in her room and that He will continue to be glorified by your walk with him, her precious life and the light the Riggs family is to many right now.
wishing you guys all the luck today and praying for you.

Stopped to pray right now.
"Dear Heavenly Father, we lift Abby up. We pray that you will help comfort her during this, the first of many difficult days ahead. Please give her moments of laughter and peace today, despite the pain and nausea. Please hold her and her family tight and bless their unwavering faith, their trust in your will for Abby's life, and their shining example of Your love to others. Your will be done, Lord. In Jesus name. Amen."
From Sophie:
"Dear God, please make Abby better. Please make the bad medicine in her arm help her get well soon. Please help her not feel lots of sick today. Thank you. Amen."

I don't know your family, but I am praying very hard that you all find the strength to get through the next few weeks. I lost my father to cancer a year ago, and the toll it takes on a loved one is difficult. Having been through non-cancer crisis' (plural) with my kids I have sincere sympathy for what you face. I posted about your daughter on our blog, and hope a few more add her to their prayer list.
I pray today for Abby.

Thinking & praying for Abby today.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not over overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43: 2-3
As Abby walks through her own kind of fire today, find comfort in knowing that her Savior walks with her.
Continue to stand firm in your faith!
"For it pleased the Father that in Him should ALL fullness dwell." Colossians 1:19

I am so sorry to read about your daughter....she is so precious! I am a Peds Hematology/Oncology nurse. Children like your daughter are my inspiration. They have it SO rough, but yet, they keep on going as if nothing is wrong, as if their life is normal. I will be praying for Abby through all this, and I will pray for her family to give them strength through this.
Dear Brent and Michelle,
You do not know me but I feel a need to be in constant prayer that God will hold precious little Abby in His Wonderful healing hands and that He will sustain her in her every need. I pray for you both that your needs will be met and that there will be rainbows and light in the midst of the darkness you all face at this time.
I am in prayer that by some huge miracle a cure will soon be found for this horrible disease. My precious Mother also has leukemia so this disease is very close to my heart.
I have shared Abby's story with many and I have many in prayer for her daily.
Thank you for letting us follow your journey and for allowing us to be a part of God's plan for Abby's life...one that I am sure will include leading many to HIM.
I love Psalm 91....all of it!!!
Verse 11 says, "For He will command His Angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;".
May God Bless all of you with His Most Holy Peace,
Ellen
I learned about Abby through my daughter-in-law (Donna @handsful.com) and your wanting prayers... especially today and forward. My JOY (Just Older Youth) group met today and there were about 40 prayer warriors that prayed for Abby and your family. My son and Donna adopted a little girl from China back in March 2008 She immediately was loved by us all. Just as your Abby seems to be. God knows just the right parents to select for these His special children and I can see why he chose your family to love Abby.
Stay strong in God's love and He will not depart from you. His angels will always be with you and especially Abby through the difficult days you are facing. But isn't it great that you don't have to face any of this alone. God's word promises that and that now and forever.

We are thinking about you...your in our prayers tonight.
Prayers from TN....
I stumble across your story through several other blogs. I went back and started reading from the beginning. My 7 month old daughter was diagnosed with ALL on July 11, 1988. Your story brought many memories (sad and happy) back that were as if my family was on that roller coaster again. I have thought about and prayed for your family all day today and will continue to do so. God and is good and he will provide. Eleanor in SC
I just read Abby's story and I am in tears. I will pray for her and your family. I will have my children and my family pray as well. I put her on my blog and joined her facebook group. I just want you to know that we will pray for so hard for this little miracle.
I just found your blog and want you to know that Abby will be in our prayers EVERY SINGLE DAY! God Bless You all!

Your sweet daughter is in our prayers. My son had high risk ALL more than 12 years ago. He is now a college senior. There is a list at acor.com where many of us with kids on treatment or now "alums" of ALL treatment post. A lot of support, love and information. Please join us. There is a woman there with much experience with cranial pressure during chemo, as her daughter had a lot of trouble with it. Hope to see you there.
Praying for you all and spreading the word every chance we get. We love you Riggs Family!! Keep up the fight Abby.
I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. I will pray that Abby has some comfort during this painful time. What a brave little girl.
