The Valley Begins Wednesday... Would You Pray For Abby and Let Others Know About Her?

Tomorrow, Abby starts a phase of her treatment where she is least likely to survive.

For the past few days, we have been asking everyone to ask everyone they know to join us in praying for Abby, and for God to be glorified through this troublesome journey. We aren't trying to focus on death, or the negative aspects because we feel hopeless... we just wanted to use the four days leading up to this next phase to communicate how serious this time is, and bring people into the prayer group with us.

Are you a new visitor? Here is a video I did last night to quickly let you know who Abby is, and where her journey has taken her:

You may also want to read a couple of posts that give some of the important updates:

As we begin this new phase, we want to emphasize that we TRUST GOD and His will. We would be sad if Abby goes to heaven, but know that she will be in a far better place. That's not just poetic rhetoric or a feel-good cliche... we BELIEVE it as sure as we believe anything.

We are not asking people to pray to coerce God, but rather to knit together a community with a common point of unity. Imagine the joy of a Father when His children petition Him on behalf of those He considers the MODEL of who will enter the Kingdom: little children.

We are overwhelmed, humbled and undeserving of the love, prayers and encouragement we have received... on behalf of Abby, our family is forever grateful and deeply moved by the demonstration of love from people all over our nation, and the world.

Please continue to let other people know, share our blog with them, put us on prayer lists, and let us know how we can pray for you. Again:

We have hope and true joy as we move into the "valley of the shadow" because our hope in is God, and His only Son.

How can we be a blessing to you today? Leave us a comment and let us know...

Hi there, found you through MckMama's blog. Just wanted to let you know my family is praying for sweet Abby and we'll be passing her story along to several prayer chains.

My son was diagnosed with kidney cancer almost 3 years ago (he was 2 years old at the time). Not to say I know exactly what you're going through now, I know each situation is unique, but Abby's photos on her video were oh-so-familiar to me...Amazing how children can go through so much and never lose their joy and positive spirit.

She's a beautiful girl! We'll be lifting her up through this difficult time,

I've been up since 3.10 this morning and haven't been able to sleep. I am putting on my makeup and getting ready to take my daughter to the hospital today to get ear tubes. I was talking with Jesus about today and thanking Him for peace in my heart. I asked him to forgive me if my sleeplessness was related to 'worry' about my girl. Then I realized in my soul that most of the time I was awake and lying in bed, I was thinking about Abby and praying for her. I wasn't thinking about my girl, but yours. That is how you have been a blessing to me today. Your post yesterday finally explained to me why we unite in prayer and how this nourishes the soul of the one we are praying for. That is how you were a blessing to me yesterday. And that is how I will always consider you a blessing for the rest of my life.

Our family will be praying for you daily. Our 19-month-old son was diagnosed with Leukemia last month, so your pain is very close to home. I wish this was a part of life that no one knew about, but, like you, we feel as though God is using this painful experience for His glory. It is comforting to us to know that no matter what, God is in control. Your faith and pain are very clear, and we will pray for you to cling tight to God.

You do not know us. But I believe nothing is by chance. We try to seize every opportunity to lift the needs of God's people before the throne of God. We have walked through a valley with our daughter as well and now we are standing on the mountaintop of God, having received complete healing!! We were told it was impossible. They said our daughter would surely die without a heart transplant, yet here we are two years later, no heart transplant, no medication, and no energy for mom from chasing her all over the house. :) Praise God that nothing is impossible with Him and NO ONE is out of HIS reach!!! We are adding abby to our church's Prayer Requests. We will be praying for complete healing for her and wisdom and direction for the doctors. May every decision, every step be guided by the very hand of our Heavenly Father. God is definitely a God of miracles. Remember that the more impossible it seems to the doctors, the more GLORY God receives once the healing is manifest. God LOVES to be Glorified!!
"And whatsoever ye ask in my name that will I do that the Father may be glorified through the Son." John 14:13
Contiue to place all of your trust and faith in HIM! Our daughter Serenity is living proof that there is ALWAYS, not only hope, but Victory in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus suffered for this very reason, to bring healing to little abby.
"Jesus answered them saying, Have Faith in God! Therefore I say unto you What soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe the ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:22,24
Continue to believe and let God's word echoe throughout her room around the clock, for
"It is the Spirit the quickeneth (bring life to); the flesh profiteth nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63
Don't stop quoting God's Healing Word over Abby. Stand firm, For His Word is life!!! God has promised that His word shall not return to Him void.
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it." Isaiah 55:11
Many nights I remember quoting Psalms 118:17 over our daughter, incorporating her name, saying "Lord your word says, Serenity shall not die but LIVE and declare the works of the Lord." That is what we are doing now declaring the works of the LORD. Today we will say the same on Abby's behalf, "Abby shall not die but LIVE and declare the works of the Lord!" Praise Him for whether mountain or valley He is ALways whether to be praised!

"My son, attend to my words; incline thy ear unto my sayings. For they are life unto those that find them and Health to all their flesh." Proverbs 4:20,22
",,,and with HIS stripes we ARE healed." Isaiah 53:5

Love in Christ,
Dana Burk

Lord, We ask that you hear our prayers and wrap this family in your loving arms.
We put our trust in you, the Great Physician, and know you will strengthen this child and give the family comfort and the doctors the knowledge they need.
Amen.

I am posting your button on my blog as well.
I will continue to pray for Abby as well as covering your family in prayer at this time.
As an adult survivor of lymphoma the treatments were grueling so my heart goes out to you. I wish no child had to go though this ever.
I will be back to check on your family.

Still praying for Abby. I have been a reader for about 2-3 months now and she is often on my mind.

My daughter posted Abby's U-Tube Video on her blog so there will be many more of us praying for your precious little girl today and in the days to come. I will also mention Abby in our Ladies Bible Study tonight.

Because He Lives!

It will be a honor to pray for your precious daughter and your family. Thank you for sharing your story with strangers, for allowing us to share in the work of our Heavenly Father in one of the few ways we can. Your story has touch me greatly. Blessings
