Abby Update: Part Two

Pic: Abby is sitting in my lap right now as I type this post. She is not feeling good obviously. Life is a roller coaster for her. She can go from great to miserable in minutes because of all the drugs, sores, injuries, etc. I love having her sit with me while I write. Photo was taken with my iPhone...

We have a request for all you video-junkies... Abby is most likely going to be in the hospital quite a bit in the next two weeks. It would be really sweet, and very comforting for her, if some of you could make videos of READING A STORY. It could be a children's story, or Bible story... and would be really neat if your kids were involved.

I can envision you reading the story, and occassionally holding the book up to the camera so she can see the characters or illustrations.

Everyone seemed to have such a great time making videos last time, I thought this would be a great way to comfort Abby when things get rough again. The best way would be to make a video and post it to YouTube or some other online video service (too big to email).

What do you think? I will create a page with links to these videos so that other families can have their children watch them too when they are in the hospital or sick. If we do this, then we should make it where others can be blessed by it too.

If you haven't read it, the last post is an update on Abby going in to the hospital tomorrow.

If you have a suggestion or question, leave a comment and I'll answer them all. If you plan to participate, leave a comment and let me know so I can see how much interest there is.

~ Brent

I don't know that I have ever signed, but I check in daily. We have two little ones from Guatemala, so Abby obviously tugs at my heartstrings. I would love to read a story if I can figure out how to do You Tube...it may not be tomorrow, but I would love to this week.

Abby has got to be one of the sweetest children around. What a doll! Gosh, it's so heart-wrenching to see her darling grin and then the picture with such obvious suffering. Whenever I forget to pray for her one of my kids reminds me that we need to pray for her. You are all in our prayers, but especially dear, sweet Abby. I asked our homeschool group to pray along with other friends and family. God bless, Liz Feuerborn

Abby is heavy on my heart today, praying, praying, praying. May God wrap you all in His arms and hold you tight as you face each day. I pray that God will ease Abby's pain and her fears, bless her heart, she knows what is coming now, i can't imagine what she thinks and what she goes through. This little girl has touched the lives of many, and put a lot of us (me included) on our knees more often, brought us closer to God, and opened our eyes to what is really important in this life. My heart breaks for her, wish there was more that i could do for her to help her, only God...and he is faithful, and will be by her side at all times, we just never know what God's will is, but it is for the best. It is so much easier for someone who is not in your shoes to give advise, but when it is you , it is totally different, we need God in our lives to be able to even to try to cope with things like Abby is going through, i praise God for His love,His strength,His comfort, and His mercy. I love you Abby.

The strength God has given your family is absolutely amazing. Our newly adopted son Jordan was hospitalized yesterday and he will probably be in there until Thursday if not longer. He has pnemonia and is having trouble breathing. As I was laying in the bed with him last night all I could think about was Michelle and how many nights she must have done that same thing with Abby. It is scary...It is lonely...It's impossible without God's strength.

Hello Riggs family! I've been following Abby's story for a while and praying fervently for her. My small group is too. I'm a teacher and I'd love to video tape reading a story to my class. I need to get the ok to do it (and my husband's technological help) but I hope to have it posted soon. Many hugs and prayers,
