Abby's Home... For A Few Days

Five days ago, Abby had regrown about two inches of hair.
It disappeared in about a day.

Abby, Michelle and Sami are home. Abby seems to be in good spirits, though she is still on significant pain control meds.

It's good to have her home, but it's going to be short lived. She will be admitted Tuesday for chemo that is even worse than what's she's already had. In her weakened condition, we anticipate a rough couple of weeks.

Abby has a month or so of the most dangerous and intense chemo still to go. We will keep you updated and covet your prayers and encouragement.

You're a blessing. Please don't hesitate to write and let us know how we can be a blessing to YOU.

~ Brent

Enjoy your weekend with your beautiful girl (no hair needed for beauty to shine through).

Get some rest, too ... ALL of you.

Wish I were near, to share the load that you are carrying.

Yes, we will continue to uplift you. Your willingness to ask for prayers is also an encouragement to me. Also praying that your medical team will get good counsel or second opinions from nearby medical teams such as St. Jude's or a hospital in Dallas. Is there anything your blog followers or Southern blog followers could do to help with your next chemo. I know the hospital is a lousy place to spend your days, but I will also pray that God will give you an oasis of comfort and peace while you are in that hospital room holding your little girl being disrupted by the lights, beeps, and frequent visitors.

It has been so easy to fall in love with your little girl and your family, I am so happy and thankful she is home with you if only for a few days. My prayers are with you always and i hope the next few weeks with the intense chemo turn out to be easier on her than expected. I am a cancer survivor, i was diagnosed with the mean disease when I was 19 and only given months to live. I am now 52 and going strong!!! Abby is going to be a miracle!!
Bless you all..

I will be praying. My prayer yesterday was that God would begin to strengthen her body now in a way that only He can, and that He would put a hedge of protection around her during this next round of drugs. She is a fighter and we continue to be amazed by her spirit and her resiliency. She gives me such courage.

Since you asked, and I know you are sincere in your request, I would ask that you pray for our Guatemalan adoption. We are an abandonment transition case and have fought for almost 4 years to bring our kiddos home. Please pray with us that God continues to care for them as they wait (they are 11 and 9 now) and that He will continue to uphold us as we sort through what we need to do.

God bless you, and praying for your precious child who inspires us all.

I was wondering if you could sometime give a blog about the details & cost of that.
Thanks!

I love reading your blog and you and your family are an inspiration to everyone. I pray for Abby daily and I am always thinking of her.

I have one quick question, however. Why is it that you never seem to mention your older children that are not adopted? Do they choose to be out of the spotlight? I would love to hear more about them:)

PRAYING PRAYING PRAYING so hard for all of you!!! You remind me every day to find joy in the little stuff and not fret so much about what seems big to us.
God does answer prayer. I lost my job about 1 month ago. I received an offer this week.
He is big and in control and, as you said in a post a long time ago, He does not blink.
All of you hang in there and give Abby a HUGE!!!!!!!! kiss for all of us!!
