HI/Lo Thursday - WIN A HUNDRED BUCKS!

If you didn't catch it last night, be sure to read the latest update about Abby, a couple of posts down here.

How About $100 For Posting Your Hi/Lo today?

When you participate in things like "Laughter Lives Tuesday", "Hi/Lo Thursday", or suggest a photo caption, you get links on our site to your blog, chances to be in our magazine and a lot of laughs and tears.

We don't slap a bunch of ads on our blog. We've decided that we'll have a sponsor in a post IF our readers get to win something significant. Not a coupon, or a $5 trinket... but something of real value, something that makes it worth YOUR time to check out the sponsor.

We're trying it out for the first time today. How's a HUNDRED BUCKS sound? We have a sponsor for today's Hi/Lo Thursday and we'll choose one random participant to win $100.

Post your Hi/Lo Thursday, and we'll randomly choose one of you to win the hundred bucks tomorrow! Be sure to visit the sponsor website so they feel good too (and keep sponsoring prizes!) Sound good?

Hi/Lo Thursday

Hi/Lo Thursday is where we get to know each other by sharing our emotional/spiritual HIGH and LOW for this previous week. It's a great way to get to know each other!

Our HIGHS:

The Feb issue of Serious.Life Magazine went out last Monday. We've had over half a MILLION page views. You get to enjoy that "high" too because your blogs and content are a big part of it!

Our ultra high of course is the fact that Abby will probably come home from the "hah-pit-tul" tonight. We are SO grateful for all your prayers and love, especially during this very difficult week. Abby stood on the brink of this life a couple of times this week. We thank God that His Will was for her to stay with us. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Our LOWS:

We probably don't have to tell you this one, huh? Let's see, Abby in excruciating pain for a week? Or being one mistaken dose of medicine away from dying?

It's a toss up. Do we have to choose one or the other?

Okay, now it's YOUR turn. Here's how:
  • Go to your blog, create a new post for "Hi/Lo Thursday!" Copy and paste ALL the HTML code below at the beginning your post. To be eligible to win the $100, you have to have our badge and our link in your post.
(NOTE: Make sure you are in HTML mode when you paste HTML code!):
  • Then, use the form at the bottom of this post to enter the title of your BLOG and the link to your "Hi/Lo" blog post. (if you don't have a blog, feel free to leave a comment)

That's it! You'll be linked in today's entries and we'll have a fun and inspiring list of "Hi/Lo Thursday" posts for everyone to read! Can't wait to read your blog posts for "Hi/Lo Thursday". By the way, did you know it really helps YOUR blog to have a link on our blog (because of how much trafffic we get)?

Can't wait to give someone a $100 tomorrow!

Please take a minute to say 'thank you' for the sponsor and the $100 prize by clicking
this ad and visiting the sponsor's site! (want people to see you? sponsor info)

Brent,

Seeing as I live way down in Africa, getting any prize to me (should I win..:) ) might prove to be difficult, so I was thinking that perhaps you (or your church) would know of someone or a family who could really use it?

Just a thought..

The power of positive thinking.. I may just win!

Hi Brent,

I will be posting a Hi/Lo - however, I really don't want to be entered to win the money. I don't post or link to win. The only incentive I feel is worthy of posting is my hope that the one person out there each day who God knows needs to be touched by the words He gives me will find them.

I would much rather give than receive - I have been blessed already more than I deserve!

Love and prayers!
Jill

What a joy it is to read that Abby is doing much better and hopefully be released from the hospital soon!! I will continue praying for good health for her!! Thanks for the update!!

I really enjoy your blog and after reading it continually ask myself throughout the day if my actions are reflecting Christ, is the way I'm living what I would want on my tombstone. Are my actions drawing people nearer to God or pushing them away. You have made a positive impact on how I live my day to day life!! Thank you for that!!

MY High for the week was having the weather go from single digits to the 60s and being able to get out and enjoy the great weather. It doesn't take much to make me happy.
My Low was hearing that a dear, sweet little friend died suddenly at home. I will greatly miss hearing her little voice and playing with her.

It's my first time to comment. I have been praying for Abby and am thrilled to hear that she is doing better. Your blog has given me so much comfort in my own time of trials.
My high for the week has definitely just been peace in knowing that we(my husband & I) are seeking God's will and that He will provide for us.
My low was finding out that my husband is being laid off from his job at the end of March. He is our sole income and this is a very scary place to be.
Thank you for continuing to share your story and your faith.
I will continue to lift your family up.
In Him,
Alicia in Texas

I check in here and on Facebook daily but don't always get to comment. I pray for Abby frequently and am so glad that Michelle was able to catch the mistake about to be made the other day. You two have a wonderful attitude about it and I want to commend you for that. I know it has to be hard to remind yourselves that is was indeed a mistake.

Hope Abby is home by now and feeling ok. I'm still praying!

Hello! I don't have a blog, but I want to share the highlight of my week.
Hi: My great-nephew, Levi, 2yrs. old, who had his eye removed last week due to retinolblastoma, is now cancer free!!! We praise God! (and thank you for praying!)
Lo: My 78yr old mother fell on the ice and has substantial injuries.
We still praise God and wait on Him!
Your family is always in our prayers and thoughts!

Abby and Matt say HI! to Sami!!
Love to you all!

I dont have a blog but i figured i would participate for the first time anyway.

My high for the week would have to be getting to spend great time at home with my 3 year old daughter.

My low for the week would have to be saying good bye to two Little blog friends whom died of cancer this week. Cora and Tuesday will be greatly missed.

I do not have a blog, so I will post my high/low here. I am not looking to win the money, I just would like to share my high/low. My high for today, is all of the positive feedback I am getting from people in supporting me in my 5k run. My low, however, breaks my heart. My oldest is 10, he has ADD. I was cleaning his room today, and came across a paper that he had written, and it said "I am so unhappy." It breaks my heart, and I feel worse that he hasn't come to me and told me.

I loved coming over to your blog to see Abby's big smile! I am so happy to hear she may be home as I write this. I posted our hi/lo on our blog. As always, praying for your family!
Huge hugs from Houston,

I don't have a blog but thought I would tell you what my Hi/Lo for this week was -
Hi - Learning from your blog to be more Christ like (asking myself before I make decisions if how I'm acting/talking will lead people to Christ or turn them away). Also being able to share these thoughts/feelings with my husband.
Lo - Is directly related to my Hi - seeing how I have failed in the past, although I believe that this is making me a better person today and in the future.

Brent - Praying that "your girls" are home tonight with you and the rest of the family!!
