Messages For Abby

Hey friends,

I'm going back up to the hospital. I'll be up there in about an hours. We will post the Abby Daily Update this evening.

The miracle of all this technology is how fast people all over the world can respond and communicate. I would LOVE to show up tonight with a truck load of greetings and messages to brighten up Abby's day.

In the next couple of hours, if you can, would you send Abby a message that we will personally play/read to her. If you have children who are praying for Abby, it would be even more special if you would include them.

A comment on the blog is wonderful, but if you can here's what will be even more fun.. Gather up the kids, a group, or just you and:
  • THE BEST: Use a webcam or camera phone send her a video message... SEEING YOU, especially other children, talking to her, and waving to her is especially encouraging for her (email it to me, post it YouTube and send me a link; send it to my phone, use the Facebook video features; whatever works for you)
  • Call my phone and leave her a voice mail. I won't pick up for the next couple of hours. My phone will fill up fast, so if you want to do that, don't wait. 918-902-7691
  • Send her a voice recording from your phone or computer microphone... email to me,
  • Or, if none of those are convenient, leave a comment and we'll read it to her. Of course seeing and hearing you is more real to a four year old.

Leave a comment here and let us know what you did, and how to get to it, so we will be sure not to miss it.

I know everyone is busy. So to impose on you when you're probably busy with dinner and kids.

We are so thankful for how wonderful you have been to our family.

~ Brent

Hi there,
I have never left a message or comment for someone that we don't directly know. I just left a message for sweet Abby and thought if she could see our blog it would give her a better idea of our family.
We have a beautiful little girl who is 1 1/2 and a baby brother on the way. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 fish.
We were introduced to your blog by a friends prayer request on her blog. We have added your family to our prayers and wish you the best and all the happiness in the world.

What a wonderful idea! We SO wanted to leave a message for Abby, I had my boys all ready to say "Get well soon Abby!" but then the mailbox was full :-(

So, Abby-girl, you stay strong, I LOVE to talk to my French class about you and they ask me every day, what's new with Abby? We prayed for you this morning, Abby, did you feel it? We prayed so hard. We hope you get our "love-you" package very soon, my students and my sons are very excited because they are sure you will love it. My students love the pictures where you're smiling, and they are sure their cards will make you smile. And all my sons know about girls is that they LOVE princesses, apparently, so they are sure you will love the gifts.

We think about you all the time, Abby, even though we pray for you at 9:30 in the morning. Be strong, so many people love you so much!!!

I think you would love Disney! we get to eat dinner with the princess', hang out with Mickey and ride rides....all day long. I once read in one of your post that you told the Make a Wish people that you did not want to go to disney, that you wanted a bra! you just cracked me up, and a very smart wish. im sure the bra is just around the corner. in the mean time just get better, and maybe go to disney!

Technology was not on our side tonight, but we've been praying for Abby. My son, Nathan (11), without any prompting from me, got up in front of his class and asked them to pray for Abby. Tonight, I talked to Jordan (8), who has autism and also happens to have one of the biggest hearts of any child I've ever met, about Abby. He wanted me to tell her this:

Dear Abby,
I asked my mom what "capture your heart" means and she told me. That's how I feel about you, and all I want to do is help you get better. Do you have a Webkinz? I want to send you one because I think it would make you smile. I also want to make a funny video for you. I was adopted, too! When I go to church on Sunday, I'm going to take copies of your pictures and ask the pastors and everyone I see to pray for you. Here are some pictures of me that I hope make you smile:
