Online Demo's & How-To's

Rarely a day goes by that I don't get asked more than once "How did you...." or "How do you..."

After 25 years of instructing, writing, training, speaking, teaching Bible, being a Drill Sergeant and mentoring, it's just natural that people want to ask me how to do things. My wife's experience with nursing, adoption, home health and other things are great for "how-t0" demonstrations as well.

People look are our blogs or website, and want to know how we do, or create, certain things. They look at the photos or graphic design and want to know how it is done. People want to know how the books are written and published, how the DVDs are created and made available online, how certain features, functions or tricks are pulled off.

I've created a system where I will put demo's online about WHATEVER.

It doesn't have to be technology or computer related but obviously that is what a lot of people ask me about. Just about anything done by computer, can be demonstrated. Anything not on the computer can be videoed. I've a got video of showing how to build a privacy fence, how to make homemade cinnamon rolls, and how to make a ponytail headband for a girl who has lost her hair from chemo.

I want to create a big, wide, and extensive library of demo's, tutorials and how-to's on the things I either already know and have experience with, or can learn about and show you. Here's a list to tweak your imagination. How to:

  • Use software
  • Do something on the Internet
  • Make something
  • Find something
  • Create something
  • Sell something
  • Make money from something
  • Take great photos
  • Improve photos
  • Tricks with photos
  • Blogging
  • Online business
  • Personal finance
  • Building
  • Home repair
  • Home improvement
  • Business
  • Computers
  • Cameras
  • Sports
  • HTML demonstrations
  • How to do things on Blogger, or other blogs
  • Internet marketing
  • Using Google, Paypal or a host of other line resources

Can it be photographed, video'd, talked about, put in a Powerpoint or demonstrated on the computer? Then an online demo can be created.

Check out the first few I have online that come from previous requests, then let me know what you would like me to do demo or create a "how-to" about. brent@brentriggs.com

I would like to learn how to take better pictures. Not just tweak them later, but TAKE them better, you know angle, lighting, time of day. I like my subject photos close up and my landscapes far away. That's all I've got!

You are talented and I love your sites.

I would be interested in ways I could make some money and still be at home. I am disabled and have good days and bad days, but would really love to help my hubby out in bringing in some income. He works about 70-80 hours a week and I feel so guilty sometimes because I can't work anymore.

Keep up the great work. The pictures of the kids were really good. Abby amazes me that she smiles so much through all she is having to face.

Brent you are the energizer bunny! You just keep going and going!

If we're voting on demos/tutorials, I desperately need HTML help. I can look at a book all day and still not get it. I'm a visual learner, so I need someone to SHOW me how to write HTML to fix my website.

I'll check out your other links!

You are speaking right to something I have been wrestling with for a while! Nothing earthshattering, but I am usually fairly competent at figuring things out...but for the life of me I can't make a blog header work out to be the right size. I use blogger and have tried uploading to photobucket, which works better, but it doesn't want to fit properly. I'm guessing you use wordpress... so it may not work the same. I considered switching from blogger to wordpress but it looked like way more trouble than I wanted!

Thank you so much for spending your time to show me how to get the counter I listened to you and did it at the same time! IT worked perfect thanks again

Brent and Michelle,

You have been on my heart today. Lord wrap them in your peace.

I posted a couple videos on my blog that I though Abby might like. Leslie from RecoveringNoah said her kids really liked it, so I thought Abby, Landis, and Sami might too. :)

Loving you through Christ,

Hannah

Brent your faith and family amaze me! I pray for your guys daily. And, since you are asking, how about you spill the beans on how to make the background on a picture blurry, while the "subject" stays in focus?? I have a Canon Rebel, and LOVE LOVE LOVE it, but heck if I can figure it all out!!! : ) would love to know how you do some fancy stuff!

Thanks!
