Hi/Lo Thursday

When you participate in things like "Laughter Lives Tuesday", "Hi/Lo Thursday", or suggest a photo caption, you get links on our site to your blog, chances to be in our magazine and a lot of laughs and tears.

Hi/Lo Thursday

Hi/Lo Thursday is where we get to know each other by sharing our emotional/spiritual HIGH and LOW for this previous week. It's a great way to get to know each other!

Our HIGHS:

Having Adam over for a week while he was getting his new business off the ground. Oh yeah, Adam is Kayleigh's Dad. If you haven't visited their blog, hurry and get over their to enter the "big donation giveaway" while there's still time. You'll find their story about little Kayleigh to be AMAZING.

Having our wonderful Christian friends raise the money to pay for someone to come over and help us with the house and kids. Things were disintegrating pretty rapidly and the stress level was getting significant. Now we have a wonderful young lady coming over for 3 days a week and we can hardly imagine a more wonderful blessing. She is a GODSEND. Thank you to our Wildwood family from the bottom of our hearts!

This video from Abby's Texan Boyfriend, Travis (pictured with Abby on the Feb. issue of Serious.Life Magazine). You can visit Travis and his wonderful family at http://buildingtheblocks.blogspot.com/ I cried my eyes out when I watched this. One of the most special things I think I've ever seen a young man do:

video

And speaking of Travis, our final high was the Abby the
Cancer Pirate video which continues to make us laugh.
We always use "say hi to Travis" to get Abby to smile:

Arrrrggghhhh, Matey!
Our LOWS:

Abby is in the hospital, looks like its going to be a long stay. She is in a lot of pain. Our family passed around the "stomach crud" and took turns throwing up all week. The "weird infection" on Brent's arm does not appear to be responding to antibiotics, and it looks like another spot might be forming on his leg. Not good....

Okay, now it's YOUR turn. Here's how:

That Travis is a special guy. I'm glad Abby has such a special friend and role model.

As always, she's in our prayers. I hope that Brent's infection/spot on his arm gets better soon and stops spreading.

Travis is definitely a very special friend of Abby's. I don't know of very many who would go to this length to get her grinning. .

We love you guys. Praying daily for Abby and her family.

What an amazing young man. Just seeing a young man facing such a serious thing with such a small child in a loving way if just beautiful. They are both blessed to have each other..

I think its time to go see a Dermatologist about the sores. With it speading that might be a better person to see. Might be a form of ringworm or something like that picked up from the hospital.

Prayer

I will be praying for you guys... actually continue to pray for you. I prayed a lot yesterday for Abby's comfort... for her pain to subside, and for the Lord to numb her to the pain as much as possible. Stand strong... the Lord holds you in His mighty hands!

I think that Travis' parents ought to be smiling from ear to ear. Where were young men like this when I was in college?!? :) What a special young man and tell Miss Abby that her taste in men is excellent! :)

Praying for healing...

We have been praying for sweet little Abby. I haven't commented before though.
As for the arm, have you checked into mycosis fungoides? Not to freak you out or anything.

Travis is a wonderful young man and I think that God will bless him for such.

Every time I watch a video of Abby I feel so many things. She is such a beautiful child even when she is hurting or drugged up, she still has a smile. I am truly amazed by her and I thank God that you have allowed us to be apart of this time in your lives.

I will continue to pray for Abby and you, Brent.

God Bless

I have been following your blog daily for some time. I pray often for you all.

Last August about 6 weeks before we brought home our daughter from Guatemala. Things were falling apart and I was very stressed. I had worked our church bake sale at the local festival and when I came home I developed an almost migraine pain in one spot my left temple. The next morning I woke up and it looked like I had a spider bite. I was freaked out. I felt that the spirit was leading me to look up shingles. The next day I went to the Dr because a sign of shingles is extreme pain before the lesion appears. If you catch it in time then they can give you anti viral medication. Which is why I went to the DR. I did in fact have shingles and also I had the bells palsy before it was all over. Thankfully it was very mild and I only had the one lesion. I know the lord led me to that diagnosis as I never go to the dr : ). I pray that not what Brent has but if there was pain before the lesion it might be.

I thank the Lord for the help you are receiving at home because it can be quite stressful when things are falling apart around us.
Blessings,
Lori

Hi. I don't have a blog. So I'll post my highs and lows here.

Low: I'm feeling left out. I'm a member of our local volunteer fire department. I LOVE working with the guys there. I'm the mom of a 7 month old baby. Don't et me wrong, I LOVE being a mommy. But I'm missing going out on fires and incidents with the guys. I can hear them leaving the fire hall in the truck. I can hear then on the radio. And I sit here, alone. I miss it. I'm lonely.

High: I have the sweetest, most sensitive wife. She goes into town to work each day, even if she's tired and even if she misses our son. I could not do what she's doing. I'm so grateful for her and for everything that she does.
