Purple Tongues of Love For Abby - PICS IN SLIDESHOW NOW

From Brent:

(Note: most people were saying they could not see the pics; I guess there were just too many, so I've put them in a slideshow instead.)

Yesterday Abby got her tongue painted purple. She was not happy. Why?

Because she's been poked, prodded, cut, stuck, jabbed, bent, bled and drained. She's sick of "new" stuff happening to her. So while getting a purple tongue might be FUN under normal circumstances, she wanted no part of it.

To help her turn it into something enjoyable, Daddy did his purple tongue pic, and we asked if some of you would join in. And of course you did.

I have to admit, I kept getting tears in my eyes over and over and over as I got these pictures ready to post. It just overwhelmed me that so many people would take time "purple up" just for Abby: whole families, babies, animals, grown men, teenagers... we are so undeserving of such a show of love. Abby deserves it, but Michelle and I are the ones who really get to see what big hearts you have.

Here are the pics we've received so far, and I'm going to print them all out and put them on the wall next to Abby's bed.

You folks... you're... THE BEST.

How do you spell LOVE? P-u-r-p-l-e G-r-e-en B-l-u-e Y-e-l-l-o-w T-o-n-g-u-e

We love you folks. You mean the world to us. If you send more, we will post more, and print them out to put in Abby's room.

~ Brent & Michelle

Hi. Cool. I couldn't see the slideshow as it was off to the far left of the black screen, so I could only see some foreheads, and they were rotated on their sides, but then I double clicked on it, and checked out all the images in the picasa album. Very fun!! Thanks. Hope Abby likes them.

Brent,

You always thank the blog readers for being so amazing, and I just wanted to take a minute to thank YOU. I so appreciate you sharing this journey of your family. I read many blogs like yours, and they all teach me so much. I check the blogs at the end of each day and I go to bed with so much to pray about. So much to be thankful for, because you help me to not take things for granted (like, my health for one thing). Also, I feel so fortunate to be able to pray for those who are truly in need. I admit, I am guilty of being selfish in prayer on more than one occasion. It's so easy to go to God and pray when I want something or "need" something. But I consider it an honor to be able to pray for your family and for others in situations like yours. I am humbled by your story, and it gives me a new perspective on things. So, thank you. I pray each night for Abby, and for you and Michelle as well. I was thinking just last night that Abby has just the best parents in the world. Michelle so wonderfully cares for Abby, using her knowledge and skills as a nurse. And you so wonderfully find these creative ways to always cheer her up- purple tongues, having people send her videos...really, you are both wonderful.

Just thought I'd send YOU a little note tonight Brent. Thanks to you and Michelle for sharing your story. As always, I'll be praying.

That is the SWEETEST stinkin' slide show ever!

Sophs is a little barfy right now, but as soon as she's up and at 'em, she'll be sending her purple tongue of love, too. ...Of course, knowing Sophie, she'll probably want to turn it into a purple WHOLE BODY of love. =)

Mine is late. I'm so sorry. Went out of town today, and came back sick. Will send Abby my goofy tongue pic tomorrow if at all possible.

I just read the updates and I'm on my face before God praying for her. I hope the fever has gone down and she has found some relief.
