Thank you for sharing the TV spot with us. They did a great job and Abby looked so cute!
It reminded me of when I was a little girl and needed to have open heart surgery. At that time (way back in 1959) they needed 30 blood donors with B+ blood to donate the morning of the operation in NYC and my mom couldn't find enough. So, they did a newspaper story on me and I was photographed on the swing like Abby. As you can see, I'm now very healthy.
I'm continuing to pray for your family and of course, Abby.
Aww...VERY cool. It would be interesting to see how the donations grow. We seem to be caught up in little kids needing blood but there are SO many other reasons to give it. Listen to me. After a bout with hep, I am ineligible as a donor. Rats.
Brent and Michelle - that was precious!
Oh goodness every time I see her my heart overflows with His love and tears fill my eyes.
Praising Him for the opportunity you were given to get the help you need for Abby!
Hugs and love,
Jill
What a great story!!!
As our younger daughters gave their hair to Locks of Love this week in honor of Abby, our 15 year old daughter Jael helped run a blood drive for her high school DECA (marketing class/organization). They were hoping to have 58 donations of blood and actually received over100!!!!! Its amazing what people can do to help each other!!!!
Lets hope that your family being on the news encourages lots mroe people to donate precious live giving blood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aw, she is just adorable.
That was a great news segment.
Abby is in our prayers!
Oh man, we missed it! We were bummed that it was bumped Thursday night, and completely missed the news last night. Thanks for posting it on the blog!!
Wonderful to see Abby in the news! I am one of the unfortunate ones who is unable to give blood, but I used to volunteer at drives. It is so, so important to give blood and there is no better example of that than Abby.
On a different note, my stepmother's sister was hospitalized in critical condition and needed blood. She was at a hospital that couldn't get blood from the Red Cross because there wasn't an affiliation between them and that particular hospital. Family members gave, but it wasn't enough, and she died. She was my age...only 31.
If you are healthy enough to give blood, I hope that you will consider it. It really does save lives.

Awesome......
So cool!! I hope that will inspire more people to go donate blood! I plan to sometime in the next 2 weeks!
That was cool. Thanks for sharing. I have to admit I didn't make it through the story without crying. Abby is just so stinkin' adorable.
I gave blood yesterday! When I give blood, I think and pray about all the people, especially the kiddos, that need it so desparately.
If you've never given blood, it is really easy and you can be in and out of there in less than an hour. Pretty amazing considering you are giving the gift of life. Plus, they always have cookies. :)

What a precious girl! That sweet voice melts your heart. I know that will encourage blood donors to think harder. Still praying for your family and sweet Abby.
EVERY TIME I SEE HER OR HEAR ABBY'S LITTLE VOICE, A BIG OLD LUMP COMES UP IN MY THROAT, AND THE TEARS FALL...I LOVE THIS LITTLE GIRL AND PRAY FOR HER ALWAYS.IT IS SO GOOD TO SEE HER ENJOYING HER SWINGSET AND PLAYING OUTSIDE, AND SAMI, YOU ARE SO PRECIOUS, TAKING GOOD CARE OF YOUR LITTLE SISTER LIKE YOU DO.
This is a really neat interview, and I hope it spurs people on to donate blood. Now I have an ethical question. One of our adopted daughters has hep-B, and as a result, my husband and I are no longer allowed to donate blood. (One of the questions on the form is whether or not anyone in your household has hep-B.) If we answer 'yes,' we have been told that we cannot donate. If we say 'no,' we are lying. In actuality, the reason for the question relates to a more intimate physical relationship than parent/child, so I would be interested in knowing your opinion.

The video was so cute! Abby is a beautiful little girl. Thank you for sharing the video. Praying and thinking about you and your family. Blessings!!
wow. I had no idea only 5% of Americans gave blood. I'm shocked. I just checked to see what the percentage is of Canadians (where I am) is, and as of July 2006, it was only 3.7%. I had no clue.
I have never given blood. I'm going to. Thanks for sharing the clip. What an eye opener.
Abby is SUCH a trooper. Stay strong, big girl!
