Balloon Release -Remembering Noah

From Michelle:

A week ago I wrote about a precious family whose infant son, Noah, passed away. To remember him on his birthday, they asked that others take pictures of themselves with balloons in his honor. Some people drew pictures of balloons, others bought balloons, but didn't release them and others released them and watched them float towards heaven. The family loves seeing pictures of creative and fun ways their son is being remembered.

Abby and Sami are understandably fascinated by Heaven and talk a lot about death. They both know children who have died very young. Abby at the hospital and Sami in Ethiopia and here. Abby, when she was the sickest, wondered if she would be in Heaven soon.

Abby and Sami wanted Noah to see his balloon. Bringing joy to a hurting family and helping death seem a little less scary to my daughters, made watching the balloon float away a beautiful experience for our family. If releasing a balloon into the environment (that is only going to be destroyed and recreated by God anyway) for Noah gets us criticized, we think the Noah and his families feelings are more important.

Sami and Landis were excited about giving
the balloon to Noah. Abby wanted to climb the
tree so she could be closer to baby Noah.

Rachel, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

We release baloons every year in memory of our daughter. This is a great way to remember. It also helps my son to get to remember. I applaud you!

Oh how beautiful. Thank you all for remembering Noah. Rachel is a dear friend of mine who has been there for me through some very rough times. I appreciate that you all took the time to do this for her and her family.

WOw, I can't believe how much Abby's hair is coming in ... that is so awesome! How is she liking it, now that it probably feels a little bit hard and spiky?

So cute! Hope the book goes over well for you.

When I was 5 months pregnant with our baby girl...discover no heart beat. Got to hold her, cry for her, and give her to God. We released balloons for her at the family service we had for her. It was a beautiful symbol...
So sorry for Noah's family!
I think of yours often!
