Mud Puddle Thunderstorm Pics

We had a classic Spring thunderstorm blow through and dump a couple of inches of rain. The kids begged me to go outside and play. Abby went out too, but before I could get a picture of her having fun, she got cold and wanted to go in.

SpideyLandis did an episode of AquaMan. Michelle wouldn't let me
show you the great pics of his glorious buttcrack that made a grand
entrance a few minutes later.

Sami enjoyed it even more than the little ones. She started out slow...

... but soon was going all out enjoy the puddle. It didn't take her long
to make sure Landis was wet head to toe.

SpideyLandis was in hog heaven. He would have slept in that mud
puddle if we would have let him.

A classic thunderhead exploding in the Oklahoma sky.
The clouds grow tens of thousands of feet in minutes and unless you
10-20 miles away you can't hope to get more than a small
portion in the camera lens.

Abby was actually having a lot of fun too, but by the time I got
the camera, she was shivering and cold asking to go back in the house.

WOW~ by the looks of those pictures you can call that those beautiful kids had A LOT of fun playing! Honestly I can't think of anything better to do with a HUGE MUD PUDDLE! Glad that they had a splash and mean a blast playing in one of God's amazing creations! : )

Abby's hair is coming in so good! What a doll she is! Very soon we are going to forget what she looked like with that sweet little bald head of hers. She is truly a blessing, a fighter, a miracle and an inspiration to many! Many ~HUGS~ Sweet Abby!

It is moments like those that kids remember for the rest of there lives! I am all about letting go of the fear of a "mess" and letting kids be kids I wish we had big puddles like that.

Brent, I am trying to become an avid member of the blogging family. I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Any quick tips on how to get a cool blog, and how to add peoples such as Abby, and Kayleigh, and Stellans buttons? Please if you have a minute, I don't want to take up to much of your time, just maybe a quick tour of the blog world. I have so much to share, and I love following everyone, I just can never figure it all out. I know it seems so simple, laugh if you want :) Also, thank you for posting on Kayleighs blog today. Today I was thinking about how I never do anything for myself, and I would really like to go shopping, but truth be told I don't need new clothes all that bad, so I donated instead. So thank you for that :)

Love to see pics like this! Kids just being kids!!!

My little one LOVES mud puddles! Let's just say we have made a small investment in numerous rainboots!

i love it!! My oldest loves to go play outside after a sping/summer shower - and sometimes DURING the shower! And I don't blame him - I love it too!
I can't wait for my youngest to want to do the same!

It's great to see Abby doing "regular" stuff!

Still praying for y'all...

I saw your guest post on Kayleigh's site. I haven't had the chance to read all of it honestly because once you mentioned your daughter has Lukemia I had to look at your site. About 4 years ago my husband and I put our names on the National Marrow Donor list. About a year ago, after having totally forgotten we'd done that a little UPS letter arrived on our doorstep. That one little moment changed our lives. We found that Adam, my husband, was a match for a 52 year old man with AML lukemia, an agressive form apparently. After more testing to confirm he was the best match possible we ended up going to NC in July and Adam donated bone marrow to a stranger and as far as we've heard saved his life. Praying for Lukemia patients, that they get the treatment that saves their lives or find a match for bone marrow has become a big thing for me. Our prayers are with Abby, as well as your family and have been for over a year without even having a name to put to God's ear. I hope she gets the cure she needs, and until that day and beyond her name will be on our lips in every prayer.
God Bless.

Good for you for letting the kids play in those puddles!! Too many parents today don't let their kids out in the mud enough. Much better than video games and tv...the look like they had a ball. Keep up the great work!!

I'm jealous!! It has looked like rain here for the past two days, but I guess the OKC area took all the water. (We live in eastern OK). Looks like the kids had a great time. Glad Abby was feeling well enough to go out for at least a little while.

Still praying...

I miss playing in the rain, but even more than that, I miss thunderhead clouds and huge TX/OK thunderstorms. I don't think I've heard thunder except for maybe once in the past 11 months we have been here. Sad!

By the way, a few days ago you mentioned wanting to know what's available to soldiers in terms of communication when they're deployed. As far as I know, some can get internet and cable in their barracks and can even have cell phones. It's crazy! If a soldier has their own internet connection, I highly recommend downloading and installing Skype. My husband and I used that to call each other for free (computer to computer) when he was in Germany and I was still back in Texas. Skype also has the capability to call landline/cell phone numbers.

Not every soldier has access to those things, and I think it varies based on their location and perhaps even MOS, but as far as I understand, it's not uncommon to have these "luxuries."
