Praising God for no fever today and safe white blood levels. Abby's white blood cell count is still trending down, but we are not in the danger zone yet.
Abby is looking stronger, but has been a little tired today. She has been playing hard with Sami and the extra rest was just what she needed.
Abby's battle with cancer is resuming. Fighting cancer is such a dance. She is still fighting the infection, but appears to be winning that battle. Abby's cancer is aggressive. It has already proven that given the opportunity it will grow fast. The decision was made today to restart her chemo.
I believe it was a very good decision, but I would covet your prayers. Pray that the cancer cells would be destroyed, her infection would heal and Abby would be safe as we try to accomplish both.
Abby really had a nice day. Volunteers did crafts with her and family came to visit her. Abby and Sami have also have made quite a few friends here.
Would you also pray for two sweet babies that we are rooming near. One has wonderful parents and the other sweet baby's parents should be drawn and quartered, then shot (did I say that?????). They left their crying, scared, hurting baby alone because (it appears) they were tired of hearing her cry. They just left and went home. In fairness, I don't know their entire situation, so my impression may be not be complete or accurate. On the surface though, it looks terrible. Would you please pray for healing for both children.
Thank you so much for praying for Abby and for taking the time to encourage Brent and I.

Abby at the crafts table...

... and with one of her nurses. She loves them, and they love her.

Sami hams it up with Abby.
Isn't it amazing how "normal" a kid can look even when they are fighting
a life threatening condition? If only us adults would cope so well...

... and then go to sleep with not a care in the world.
Do you think this is why God says
"unless you become like little children..."?
