Today, will be a busy, busy day. This morning (Monday) Abby has an oncology appointment that I am dreading. Abby will get a spinal tap (lumbar puncture), IV chemo and antibiotics and an exam. The chemo that they are injecting into her spinal fluid is needed to treat her cancer, but it can also damage Abby's young brain.
Would you please pray that Abby would be well sedated during the procedure, pain free, and not scared? Also, for wisdom as her doctor makes decisions about what doses chemo to give Abby and for no nausea or discomfort after the procedure.
This will be a long day at the clinic and Abby is usually very tired when it is over. Unfortunately this is also a day that Abby has been excited about for a long time. Monday afternoon is Abby's first dance lesson. Abby missed dance camp this summer, because she was admitted to the hospital with an infection. I am really hoping and praying that Abby is feeling up to going to dance class today. I haven't told her that today is the day, just in case we have to stay home.
They will be running tests, looking for cancer cells in her blood and spinal fluid and making decisions about treatment. I will be breathing a lot easier once today is done.

just prayed.... I am also praying that the pedi docs and nurses give her fractionated doses.. it takes so much longer so they dont always do it, but the body seems to take it better. I know in pedi they are very sensitive... so I am sure they will, but I am praying that is the case. Remember, even if she has to stay home, which she probably should with her immunity being what it may be for the day, then dad and family can always dance with her! I still have that picture of her in my mind with her dancing in the field!
I am sure you dont remember with all that is in your own prayer closet but if you would also keep me in prayer over the coming days too. My spinal tumor is getting worse and the pain and pressure have basically confined me to bed. The pain is uncontrollable now, unless I take something that will knock me out and I want clarity of mind. I do not sleep during the nights... and just nap a couple times in the day now for last couple months due to pain levels. But when I see your precious daughter my heart runs to the throne and lifts her up!! seeing her amazing smile and zest for life has touched us all. thank you for sharing your lives with us. it is a privilege! The one spinal tap that I had went badly and I ended up in the hospital with leaking fluid. It was a nightmare. I do not ever want to go through that again, and my heart goes out to all who have to suffer through these spinal taps regularly. God bless that sweet girl and I pray that it goes well.
We will be lifting you and Abby up in prayer today, praying that the spinal would go smoothly, Abby would be pain free and the results will come back clear. Hope Abby dances her little heart out!!

As I am at the hospital today with my daughter Hannah as she gives birth to our brand baby, Charlie, I WILL be praying for Abby's day as well.
I was going to see if later this week (well, later this week IF IT STOPS RAINING) you'd want to go to the zoo with us?? The girls have been cooking up a zoo trip for a while, and when they put it all together that Abby AND the zoo were in OKC.....
Anhow off to the hospital for me, and for you. PRAYING AS THE DAY UNFOLDS!!

Argh! For a minute, I wished my homeschooled family lived closer. I could easily feign "school, classroom, and dance class" with my daughters and Abby. Our class timings would be whenever Abby is able! Today was our first day of homeschool for the year. Morning Bible, reading and math and Monday chores and perhaps an impromtu dance class in the afternoon. Trusting God is overseeing all - even the things in my life. Liz
