Wanna See Proof God Protects?

From Brent

This is the truck Garrett was riding in when the accident occurred. It's hard to imagine, apart from God's hand of protection, that he would survive a highway speed impact directly into his door and seat.

You can see the exact point of impact was Garrett's passenger door.
Uncle Michael was in the drivers seat. Looks like he'll get to go home
today from the hospital with a couple of broken vertebrae and
a lot of scrapes and bruises.

This is the backseat where Micalah was seated.
Except for a few bumps and bruises, she was unhurt.
There all suffered hypothermia as the vehicle filled with
snow and Micalah was hanging half way out the back window.

Garrett was in that seat. Keep in mind the door has been cut off,
so you would have that door smashed into him. He said his knees
were jammed up to his chin. I just saw these photos a few minutes ago
for the first time. His injury list is surprisingly LOW given the obvious
violence of this impact. So far his pelvis is broken in two places, L5
vertebrae broke, sternum broken, a vertebrae in the middle of his back
broke, thumb broke, should and ankle sprained, 8 or 10 stitches,
lacerations, scrapes and bruises.

Garrett will be in the hospital for at least a couple of weeks and is looking at many weeks of rehab and recovery. Even with all that, there is no mistaking God's divine protection in an accident that typically would have claimed a life (or several).

God is good. God is gracious. Blessed is God's name.

OH MY WORD!!! God is good, isn't He?

Oh, my! God's protection was certainly on the three of them. Even with the injuries that were sustained, it's only because God shielded them from more serious injury that they are still here from looking at the truck. Many prayers of thanksgiving for that protection.

I am new to your blog. I am also a Christian, and am amazed at your testimony to see good in all that is happening around you. I hope you rub off on the others that read this. May I ask how the accident happened? Just curious if it was a drunk. Anyway, praise the Lord for His protection and mercy. Blessed be HIS name!

This photo took my breath away. I've been reading your posts the last several days, but was still blown away with this pic.

I know there are serious injuries involved, but it's obvious God is looking over your family.

A Christmas Miracle for sure with the survival of your son & Michelle's Family. The point of impact was it from another vehicle or did the truck flip? (another vehicle-did the people survive?)
God is truly wonderful. I pray your family gets some 'rest' soon with all of the 'attacks of the enemy', I know your testimonies are growing daily with all you & your extended families have indured over the past 2 years.
May God continue to carry you through!!!

I've had my share of back pain. Unbeknowst to me, I had a broken back for over a year. Yep, the MRI had some gray areas so it was hard to tell until they did a spinal fusion.

PT isn't easy, but it is worth it. I'll be praying for grace and strength for all of you as well as competent and caring people along Garret and Abby's latest journey.

This accident will now become part of Garrett's testimony! Praying this incident draws Garrett into an even deeper faith and relationship with Jesus.

Poor Garrett. Poor Abby. Poor Mom & Dad. I'm so sorry for all of you. That brace looks miserable! I can just imagine how much more miserable it will be to be in it!

Your faith together with your sense of humor along with your strong love makes bearing all possible! And, GOD gets all the glory!!!

God is doing somethin'!

Just a thought here, you may want to blur out the license plate # on the car....I have heard that some weirdos can use it to track down the owners address. I know just another silly thing to think about when you have so much on your plate already.
Praying for you all in Texas.

I've been praying, based on your tweets. It all seems like too much. You are loved and prayed for. There was an accident here yesterday, a 20 yr old, recently married, young man was hit on the passenger side & was driving, but he hit his head hard enough to cause brain pressure & coma & surgery & unknown critical status. His name is Chandler & his young wife's name is Rachel. Praying for all of you. Dear Jesus, wrap them in your peace & love & comfort as ONLY YOU can do.

God was surely watching and protecting everyone in that vehicle. I'm in shock just looking at those photos and how anyone survived. Thank you GOD for protecting the family members of this vehicle. Please continue to watch over this amazing family. Wishing that 2010 brings much more happiness. God's blessings upon everyone.
