Update - Sort Of

From Brent

We are the most blessed family, with so many friends and family who check in on us and want to know how we are doing.

We hate to leave everyone hanging for too long without an update but there hasn't been a lot of change today except that Christian is now sick. I feel like I'm trying to get sick but I'm just ignoring that. Don't have time for it. I did get a full night's sleep last night for the first time in 3 weeks so that was a real blessing. Only woke up once about 3am for an hour or so then fell back asleep. Amazing how much better you feel when you get more than 2-3 hours of sleep at a time.

Garrett is in a rehab hospital for a week or two. Landis has "goop eye" and is proud of how brave he is for taking his eyedrops "like a man". I was AMAZED at how many of you guessed he had pink eye from my clue last post. Was it that obvious??? I'll have to be more subtle next time. :)

Abby had a pretty good day today even though she is starting to let us know about head and joint pain again. Christian (our 18 yr old still at home) is sick with upper respiratory crud. We covet your prayers for:
  • Landis to heal quickly (he and Sami will go to my parents next week while I'm out of town)
  • Christian to get well quickly (he gets this chronic chest crud pretty often)
  • Me, not to get sick at all (I think what I feel today is just the result of fatigue)
  • Abby's new medicines to work and keep her spinal pressure down
  • Health and strength for Michelle as she continues to care give

Abby had a good day today. A little pain in her legs and
a headache but her meds helped her feel better.

Pink-eye didn't keep SpideyLandis from his usual rascallyness...
he is always searching under the still-standing Christmas tree
to make sure he didn't miss something.

Okay, I know I'm biased but I just can't get over what a beautiful,
young lady Sami is growing up to be. As beautiful as she is on the outside,
she is even more beautiful in her heart always helping, taking care of the
babies without being asked, doing her chores and always accepting
correction with a (mostly :) ) good attitude. She is a gem. We are so blessed.

So you really were serious about Landis & doctor? And here I thought you were being the jokester you are! OPPS!!!
I hope his eyes are back to normal soon!!! I know of a 'person' who said he had pink eye young & it made in sterile... hopefully all will be well ;) I know, least of your worries :D
THANKFUL Garrett & Abby are improving quickly & hopeful Christine will too!!!
What a blessing to have Hannah with you.
I'm shaking my head in amazement of the load Michelle is carrying on her shoulders & still going!!!
*HUGS*

Ps. Sleep is GOOD. I finally got some today & it looks like I won't be making church in morning due to weather so I'll get more tomorrow too. :)

I am praying for you all for healing for some and continued health for others. Abby you are such a strong and inspiring little girl. Most people could not withstand the things you have been through and are going through. You handle all of it ans still show a wonderful spirit lifting smile. Sami is beautiful. What a wonderful big sister to help out so willingly with the younger children and the chores when needed.
Brent and Michelle,
You have such a beautiful family. You do a great job with them. many prayers for you and your family.

Sami has really captured my heart through your blog. She has gone through her own upheaval and so many things are still new to her, yet her focus seems to be on others. She is a wonderful example. And yes, she is very beautiful on the outside too! You have a keeper!

Praying for you all! Keep sleeping!
