Abby Update - Monday

Today, Abby will get a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) so they can inject chemo into her spinal fluid. She will be getting a total of 4 chemos, two at the doctors office and 2 at home. They are 10 days late beginning this chemo cycle because of the delay due to her respiratory infection. It feels good to be moving ahead again.

I will also be talking to Abby's primary oncologist today. We need to discuss her asthma, pain and sleeping problems.

I have been dreading this meeting for almost a month. There are so many variables and so many things that can go wrong so easily. It's maddening. Normally Brent is wonderful at helping with these discussions but he won't be back in town until the doctor's appointment is over.

We both need your prayers today.

Now I feel ashamed for complaining about my problems with my son and his school.

You've come this far and God knows what you need. Stay strong and know that you are all in my prayers today.

God Bless,
Erica

Oh Michell,
We will be praying so hard today.. for Abby to tolerate the chemo and the spinal so amazingly well and for God to provide incredible wisdom and clarity as you speak to Abby's oncologist. Also praying that you will feel God's presence flooding you with peace, in the car on the drive to the hosp, in the rooms where she gets her spinal and other chemo and as you speak to the doctor. May you sense the God of this universe standing beside you, guiding ever decision made for Abby! We love you guys!! SAM (Hannah's mom)

Praying for you! Lord Jesus, please give the doctors and Michelle great wisdom in making decisions for Abby. Praying also for Brent as he can't be present, and for the rest of the family. cAnd Lord, grant healing on this Earth and soon for Abby. We pray for Your will to be done.

Praying for you and Abby today as you got through the meeting and the procedure. Praying for peace for you and clarity of thought as you voice your concerns, for Abby to feel God's presence and for that to make the experience more tolerable, for Brent as he has to be away during this difficult time, and for the rest of your family because I know this is hard for them, too. Having a chronically ill child is hard.
