Thumbnail Linky - Great Blogs!

From Brent

Most of you know that I'm the creator/owner of www.mcklinky.com. What most of you don't know is that I'm about to launch an all new version of it. I think you're gonna love it.

I need help testing a brand new Linky... the THUMBNAIL LINKY. This linky adds image thumbnails to your link instead of just plain text. You get to choose your image, AND choose exactly what gets cropped out of that image for your thumbnail (as opposed to just the middle of the image being automatically selected).

Love the idea. I got a runtime error when I tried to crop my picture. I saved the error message if it would be helpful to you. I use firefox.

What a great concept. I am sure its me who goofed but the photo I selected for my thumbnail is not what is showing up. How can I change it? Do you want to delete me so I can start over?

Nevermind my last comment, despite the line 0 position image message it still posted it as PIP designs.

Neat idea! I had trouble with the cropping tool. It would let me select the area, but when I clicked to crop it, it didn't work.

Hi I tried to crop another image that is the header of my blog, but I couldn't move the cropping rectangle at all. So I used this image instead which didn't need cropping. Not sure if that is an error or just my computer?!

The photo would not crop in Google Chrome, Version 4.1.249.1045. Could not move any corners.

Opened it in Internet Explorer and it worked fine.

I use Google Chrome and it worked wonderfully for me. Thanks!

Brent, here's my troubleshooting report:

IE 7 - Picture from Web did not bring up crop box

IE 7 - Picture from PC, worked just fine

Chrome 4 - Picture from PC, worked just fine

I really love this - I thought this was what you had planned when you talked about new stuff in the works!

I like the look of this much better than some of the other thumbnail links. I like how the photos are closer together forming a collage. The other site is too spread out and it confusing to the eye. Great job!

That is fantastic! Quick, easy...wonderful!

Thank you!

Using Windows Vista, and Google Chrome. Worked great, except the thumbnail was not visible on the last page where you click finish. It's in the McLinky, though and it's really cool. I love it!

How cool is that?? Thanks for the thumbnail linky, Brent! You rock. Can't wait to see what else you are coming out with.

I love the thumbnail!!! I couldn't adjust the cropping though, so my picture isnt right. Good Luck with everything!!!

very cool linky :)
However, it wouldn't let me move the crop box or resize anything :(

It worked perfectly for me - love it! :)

GlowinGirl said...

I love the idea, but I couldn't get it to work. The crop box wouldn't budge, and when it showed my final image, it showed the entire shot, so I thought it worked . . . but it didn't. Bummer. Looking forward to fixing it hopefully!

GlowinGirl said...

Tried another photo, and it still didn't work -- crop box won't budge. Shoot.

Jenny said...

That was easy. I'm not sure what I do with it though? Maybe that's because I'm not exactly sure what to do with this new thumbnail I've created and I don't know how to use McLinky (I tried for Not Me Mondays but couldn't figure it out. Please Help!?

I guess I got confussed with the croping tool, my pix did not show up when I posted it. I like the idea anyhow.

Yoyo said...

Great tool. Thought you would like to know it worked just fine on my Apple using OSX (10.5) and Safari aap. It's always such fun to find great little tools like this that do in fact work using Apple hardware.

Quilt Works said...

Terrific! I like that you can select your own cropping. I have used this tool from other vendors, and none of them have that cropping tool, so it often shows a weird portion of the image. Well done!

Love this idea!
I'm new to your blog, just became a follower.
I've recently had trouble with my sharing button through blogger. When I try to share to facebook, I can no longer get my recent post and picture to show up in the thumbnail (since getting a new layout), don't know how to fix it. How can I use this tool for me to share my recent blog post on my facebook page?
