Abby - 106 This Morning

From Brent

I flew home last night from Indiana and as soon as I hit the door at home it was off to the Emergency Room with Abby. We got out of there last night only to wake up this morning to a ONE HUNDRED AND SIX degree fever.

We figured that would be a trip straight to the hospital but instead, they are having us give her Tylenol and try to get her temp down.

This is SO frustrating. ER trips 3-4 times a week; fevers every day. Never sure what to do or if the current fever will end up being something life threatening.

We are just really at our wits end but we know that God is watching over every step, and we choose to see the joy in life. Abby is home. We have a nice cool home to get us out of the 100 degree heat. We have friends and family who care about us. No one is going hungry. Life is good.

Please pray for Abby's comfort and healing. We are sad for her that she has to suffer so much and endure so much discomfort.

Poor Abby. I really feel for you guys too! I'm frustrated also that you are spending so much time in the E.R. I can't help but wonder how many new germs she is picking up each time. I'm confused that now that it is 106 they are having her stay home. Seems like to me they would admit her and keep her until the fever goes away for a couple of days and she seems more stable. But I don't know, I'm not a medical person. Just the back and forth seems so awful and it doesn't seem like much of a "plan."

Praying for Abby and your family. I'm glad Brent is back in town at least. Of course God is in control and none of this is taking Him by surprise. It doesn't make it easy though, does it? He never promised us "easy" did he? I'm glad He made so many promises that are even better. I pray that He is holding you tight and giving you strength and peace.

In Christ,

Susan

Ughh... I'm so sorry.

Our son had chronic neutropenia as a baby which left him with an ANC of 45 or so. So we had to go to the ER all the time if he had a fever. We would wait for hours. Our son would endure very painful pokes and tests. Then there would be no answers. Nothing would grow on the blood cultures. It was so frustrating because we felt like we were putting him through needless pain. I remember those days as being very weary. I know how you must feel and it just stinks.

I am praying for healing and comfort for sweet Abby.

Lord, please come hold Abby in Your almighty healing hands. In Jesus' name. Amen

Love in Jesus,
Amy
