Where You Been? Abby Update

From Brent

Thank you to everyone who has written and asked "where you guys at?" since we haven't blogged much in a couple of weeks.

We've been dealing with a very serious situation that has completely overshadowed blogging and about anything else going on. We don't feel right now it is a type of thing we want to publicly blog about. Maybe down the road in hindsight we might write about IF it is something that could help others (after all, trials that are used later to help others, become "trials with a purpose"). But for now it is a private matter.

So that's why you haven't heard much from us. This week... we are doing something very special that come up unexpectedly (and to God's predictable glory, at just the right time to encourage us). However, where we are currently, we have no phone service and I just get a dash of Internet time each night late. We are going to throw some photos up each day and keep you guessing... then when we get back we'll have some wonderful memories and photos to share.

Abby Update

Abby is doing very well on our adventure. Since the mold got removed from our bathroom, her fevers seemed to die down pretty quickly. She appears to have gone several days now with no fevers at all, and only a a handful since the mold was removed. We are so incredibly thankful to our wonderful Christian family who helped us quickly rip that mold out and rebuild the bathroom. It's such a blessing to be part of God's family... to help and be helped as needs arise.

What we are doing this week is about as close to "normal" as Abby has got to be in a very long time. She's still a little frail (she's still on chemo after all) but she is gaining strength all the time and getting to do most of what all the other kids are doing.

Thanks so much for all your kind and wonderful comments, prayers and love for our family. Despite a few negative comments lately, they are outnumbered a hundred to one (much more actually) with comments of kindness, care and encouragement. We are forever grateful for our "blog family" and hope that over the years we'll have opportunity to return the favor with our prayers, help, advice and encouragement for you.

I have been praying for you in the "silence" and though our own busyness with Daniel, and have wondered how you were doing. Its prettytough to blog about life that is so busy and full that it leaves no time to talk about later!! SO GLAD that the mold being gone has been a good thing forAbby. I'd have hated to hear that after all that bloody , sweaty and tearful work that she had no change. My gils keep askingme when we can see you guys.....and one of these (slower) days I promise we will see you!!!

glad to hear you guys are doing well... I don't comment a lot, but I do follow your blog. I have been praying for you family and sweet abby wondering what has been up. Thanks for the update, and I think it's great that you have taken some time off from blogging, it's important to focus on family without internet calling your name!
Continuing to pray.

I'm so glad Abbey is doing well. Im 16 and I have Leukemia too, although I'm not as far into the journey as Abbey is.
I will be praying that she keeps on getting better and better until she is completely cured!

Hmmm.... I wonder (HOPE) your "adventure" involves a certain television show? That would be awesome if it's the case.

If not... then I know that God knows your needs, even if you can't/won't post them here for whatever reason. Know that you are in my prayers.

So glad to read Abby is doing well. I was worried that the silence was terrible news for Abby. I'm so relieved. I've been praying for your family, and will continue to pray for you all!

So sorry that things have been harder but so glad that it isn't Abby. Every day with no post we feared issues for her! We continue to pray and hope that your new adventure is a great one!

I have not commented on your blog before but am a friend through AGCI and FB! I pray for your family often and hope that sweet Abby is being held up by prayer. When I read this post, the first thing I thought was that maybe I should nominate you far a tv show on abc and then I read someone elses comment. Much love to you and your family!!!

so very glad to hear and see that abby is doing better. i think it would be good if you blogged more about the mold and how it affects people- many have allergies and i myself am badly affected by mold of any kind. it might help others understand how to deal with a serious health issue in a very practical way. blessings and hallelujah!
