As Sure As The Sun Rises

From Brent

I love the innocence of kids and they way they think. Here's what Landis said the other day:
"Every day, the sun comes up, the sun goes away. The sun comes up, the sun goes away. I wish God would make up His mind!"
Let's share some more laughter today... leave a comment with something funny your kids have said.

When my son was five I asked him how he felt one day. His response was, "I feel adorable."

Church on wed night Savannah(4) learned why Jesus washed the disiples feet. The teacher washed her (dirty) feet.
I asked her what she had learned when I picked her up, the teacher prompted her Savannah why did I wash your feet. And with sweet thought she answered They were dirty!!

I teach kindergarten in a rural community in the South. Today, one of my children said that another child sounded really country when he talked. My assistant agreed. T child then said, "My mom speaks country too, but I speak English." Love it:-)

I could literally write a book of all the funny thing my little munchkin has said, but one of my favorites comes from a trip to the zoo. In the reptile house, there was a very large snake & it scared my son a bit. He cried out, "Mama! Don't get too close to the snake or he'll hiss on you!"

Many years ago my son was with me at the Neurologists. When we were working our way from the "patient room" back to the lobby to pay up and leave I thot it was a good time to teach him "left" and "right". I'd say "Now we'll turn right" "Now we'll go left". When we arrived at the lobby he said "Mom, now we're back to the Home Page!" I realized that he was on the computer too much! He didn't know left and right, but he knew about Home Page!

While I was babysiting my husbands younger cousins one day, the eldest daughter spiller her milk on purpose (after watching the baby spill hers). I gave her a stern look and said "Breanne ________" (insert her last name). Her little brother looked over at me.. and in a voice so small said..."her middle names Marie"- I guess I must have sounded just like Mom, and he figured i should have the whole name!! hee hee.

My 2 year old daughter stood up in the bathtub and passed gas. She looked at me and said "Mommy, I burped!"

It wasn't something my child said, but at our community parade a few weeks ago the little guy sitting in my mom's yard with us was totally cracking us up. When the American flag came past, his mom told him to stand up and he asked why. She told him it was to show respect for the flag. Since the flag was being escorted by two soldiers with rifles, his next question was, "So are those guns because anyone who doesn't show respect gets shooted?" Priceless!

My children and some of my nieces and nephews attend the same small school where I teach. The other day my four-year-old asked me why her cousins had not yet arrived at school. I explained that they had a dentist appointment to go to and would be at school later. I went on to tell her that she and her sisters would soon be having dentist appointments as well. Armed with that information, she went running off to find her sisters. I over heard her saying, "The Petroviches (cousins) aren't here because they have a disappointment this morning and we're going to have a disappointment soon too!
