Can You Come To A Big Huge Party For Abby?

From Brent

I'm just floating an idea to see how much interest there is. Abby's gets done with 2.5 years of chemo for her Leukemia on Nov. 19th.

We would love to throw a great big HALLELUJAH party on Sat Nov. 20th. I'm guessing 2-3 hours in the afternoon starting with lunch.

How many of you could make it to Norman, Oklahoma to celebrate with us? If we could get an idea of the interest level, and how many guests, we might just have to make it happen. I know a lot of you wonderful folks have a walked with us through this ordeal and we would love to have you celebrate with us.

If you think you really would come join us, leave your 1) family name, 2) how many are coming, and 3) where you are coming FROM on the Linky list below. Putting your name here doesn't obligate you. We just want to get a feel. Closer to the date, we'll ask people to give us a firm confirmation so we can plan accordingly:

Hi Brent! I am SO HAPPY for Abbey! I won't be able to come to the party, but I do want to extend my congratulations and love to Y'all and Abbey. I wished they would have known back in the 60's what they know now about Leukemia. My precious cousin would still be alive also. She passed away at the age of 5 years from this awful disease. Tell Abbey I send my deepest feelings of love and "relief" to her and gratitude to God for SAVING HER. I know I probably don't have to say this, but I pray that she will love, laugh and live well, and not take this precious gift of liife that God has given her back for granted. Help her to live life to the fullest. I will continue to watch her live and grow as though she were my cousin. God Bless y'all!

I sure wish I could, but I November 20th is not possible for me. So here's my idea. Y'all should stream the party live on the internet so those of us who can't be there can watch and chat together with each other and all of you. :)

Lovely idea! I cannot make it, however, what do you think of doing a wall of postcards or pictures... something from those of us who would like to be there. We'd still be involved and sending love and prayers....

Just an idea.

Hi Brent: I would LOVE to be able to come! However, we live in Oregon and I am not sure I could fly down there. But could I please send a gift with a card? This post brought tears to my eyes knowing she's almost done! Woo hoo! She is such a fighter! And a true testimony to God's perfect love!

If I lived closer, I would definitely be there. Maybe you could also have an online party where we could send our good wishes to Abby?

Blessings and love,
Debbie

Oh how I WISH! Abby is a household name around here. We have been faithfully praying for her for so long that the boys practically think they know her. Last month there was a big picnic for all the area cancer kids and families at a nearby park, and the boys were asking if Abby was going to be there too. I had to explain that you guys live across the country from us! Too bad. :(

Brent & Michelle, I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love the idea of throwing a GREAT BIG GIGANTIC Celebration Party for our sweet Abby!!! What a wonderful idea...probably inspired by God! :) I wish, wish, wish, I could join you, because if I could, I would absolutely, possitively, be there!!! Breaks my heart that I can't join you to collectively thank and praise God for bringing Abby through her long, long, chemo. Although, I can't be with you, my heart & spirit will be with you & all of the many friends and relatives that will rejoicing with you. God bless you and Abby! In Christian love, Bobbie Bailey

I would love to come because I have followed your blog and watched for Abby updates. However, my distance (coming from Ohio) would prevent me from doing that. It is so good to know she is so close to being finished with her chemo. She has been quite a trooper and been through so much. She deserves a huge party. And I saw her picture on the blog recently - she looks absolutely beautiful. Bless you and your family and your blog - it touches many people.

OK Brent ~ you always mention a "One Stop Sign Small Town" so I'm thinking "SMALL"!!!

LOL after googling to see if there's bus arrival there, taxi, motels, then I find this > "As of 2010 Norman was estimated to have 115,876 full-time residents. Third largest city in OK"

We have a pop. of 8,000. LMNBO!!!

Whatever it takes, I'm going to do my best to be there bc I LOVE you all enough to MAKE it!!! Abby CHANGED my Cancer Journey!!!

- haven't been on a Grayhound since 1997 - should be interesting meeting ppl :)

Hugs & Love,
~Joni Lee

LOL! Imagine my shock when I clicked on leave a comment, and my previous comment popped up! LOL! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you're more than welcomed, My prayers will continue to go up for her until you e-mail me to tell me she is healed. I sincerely believe that we have a mighty God that can heal us, no matter what doctors say. As I said before I have seen it, my faith is strong and I believe that He will heal her. Just like He says in His word If His words abide in us and we in Him, then whatsoever we ask in His name SHALL BE DONE. God Bless, and please keep me posted. By the way, it looks like you have the start of a good party! Congrats! I may not be there personally, but I will be in "spirit".

It may be possible since we are right down the road from Norman. I will have to see since I will be 7 months pregnant at that time and am already waddling. I know that my Abby would love to meet your Abby.
