Done.

My name is Abigail Riggs.

I've been doing chemo for 986 days. I almost died a couple a of times. It's been going on for so long that I don't know much of any other type of life. I've made lots of friends and God has used my cancer to touch many lives.

I'm finished with chemo as of today. I still have a lot of recovering to do from taking rat poison for two and a half years. Taking poison to save your life... not something I had planned for Kindergarten.

Tomorrow I'm going to celebrate with many of you. The next day I'm going to start my new life without the label of "cancer". I've been blessed to have so many people love me and walk through this with me.

I hope you'll continue with me on this new journey too.

WE have seen God in Abby ~ what a wonderful testimony she has already shared with us and what a wonderful testimony she has yet to even know about yet. God bless all of you. Becky and kids in NC

I have read about your journey for a long time. I'm SO HAPPY you are done with chemo!!!!! (I don't think I can convey my excitement properly!) My Mom finished chemo about a month ago. She had about 50 rounds or treatments. So, I understand a little of what you've gone through.

You are a BEAUTIFUL girl. I love the picture of you in this post. But, you aren't just beautiful on the outside. You are beautiful inside as well. You are stronger than you know, silly, and resilient. I love that you smile even when you don't feel well.

I hope one day when you are big you are able to tell how God saved your life and how He is worthy of praise!

In the future, if a kid picks on you or makes fun of you, if you ever feel like you aren't accepted or good enough, if you ever wonder why you went through all of this, stand on the knowledge that He has a SPECIAL PLAN FOR YOU! You are one of a kind, Abby Riggs! You are God's princess! Live like it. Tell the world how AWESOME God is!

Enjoy your party tomorrow! Dance, laugh, and have fun! I will be thinking about you. I wish I could be there to meet you and congratulate you.

God Bless & Much Love,
Teri

Hello!! I love you, Abby, as does my whole family...there is history.

So, I just wanted to tell you most of all something that God says about you...from Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Isn't that wonderful!? I am so blessed by the example of your courage and hope you continue your life with the same determination and hope.

So proud of you Miss Abby! It's hard to believe that a year ago we had just heard about you, and Mattie decided to raise money to support your wish of adopting a sibling. Mattie fell in LOVE with you in that process as God blessed her efforts and allowed her to raise $4,000 for Amy's "Pass It Forward: Abby's Wish" fund!!! We never thought we'd get to meet you, as God really called us to help Amy raise money for the PIF, but we felt so happy when we got to meet you in person at Chrissie's funeral. Anytime one works to help another in His name, God does this thing of connecting their hearts in a special way. We're grateful for the blessing of knowing you, Abby, honored to pray for you, and so glad to celebrate this victory with you, sweet girl!

I'm so proud of you, sweet girl, for being so brave for such a long time. I cannot even imagine the pain you have gone through. You have schooled a lot of adults, including me, on how to smile in the worst of times, how to keep going when life is so tough, how to live when all seems lost. I can't express how impressed I am, special one.

I will continue to pray for you and your family. You just get healthier and healthier! I pray for you a wonderful life in which you grow closer to Christ daily.

I just wanted to say that I am so happy for all of you, and that I've been praying for you. We adopted our son from Hannah's Hope Guatemala in 2008, and I'm a cancer survivor from 2009. May God continue to bless you and give you strength and joy always! You're an impressively strong girl, Abby. Enjoy this new phase of your life!

So happy for Abby, and for all of you. I've been praying for her for a long time. It's great to see the "end" though I'll still be praying for her. Hope her party was fun. Thanks for sharing her life...all of your lives. Happy Thanksgiving! What a blessing!

Abby and family,

We've followed your journey for over 2 years, and you are the family who (albeit virtually) made me absolutely sure that I was meant to adopt.

Our kids have read Abby stories on video, made cards, and prayed for her health. This post makes my heart so incredibly happy! What a beautiful, beautiful girl with an incredible spirit and an amazing family. Hugs and congratulations and love to you all!

I have walked through most of this journey w/ all of you... or maybe I should say "I have prayed through this journey w/ and for you."

So many times when it seemed that God's answer to the prayers were going to be that He wanted Abby with Him, but then Abby's strength would come through over and over. I think God would just see how Abby was touching so many lives that He felt letting her stay on Earth was more important. I am so thankful that he did let Abby pull through so many times.

And now... Praise God !! No more chemo ! Abby now can just live her life as a normal little girl.

But... that doesn't mean you all don't have to keep blogging about her and the family because we are all still interested and want to keep up with all of you.

love and prayers

Hey Abby. I'm so happy your chemo is done! God obviously made you seriously special and important. I'm so glad you have touched my life. I developed my serious faith while sitting in the hospital at my daughter's bedside. It was there that I learned that God can pour anything He wants to into a child. He can give a child more strength to endure, more patience, more drive, more peace, or more fight than an adult, if He wants to. Your size doesn't have to limit your possibilities Abby. He has serious plans for you and I can't wait to see it unfold!
